This place doesn't look like much from the outside and it's a little hard to find but it is open to the public and the people are nice. The prices are great. I haven't had the food but I'll post another review if I eat there. They allow smoking inside. The VFW does a lot of volunteer charity work and it's all about veterans.

My husband threw my 50th birthday party at the Ballwin VFW. Honestly, it isn't "known" for its class or for being an upscale place, but it was fairly inexpensive and close to our home. When we checked it out prior to booking, they has some lights strung at the ceiling that made it look nice. I thought with some cute decorations, we could make due. My best friends, mom and I made some awesome decorations we saw on Pinterest. They were very flexible on decorating prior and we spent 5 hours decorating on the morning of the big event. My luau themed venue looked AWESOME!!! Everybody raved about how nice it looked in there. It was just the right amount of space for our party. We had a catered meal, but had a cash bar and no one complained! The drinks were reasonable and cold! My only complaints were that we were unable to provide our guests with water or the non-alcoholic punch that was part of our catered meal. The weather was poor even for a February night, but it was nice and warm inside the hall (thankfully)! We also just wish we could have had a little longer to clean up so the party could have lasted for the full time. We were required to be cleaned up and out by midnight, which is when we thought the party could go til.

The bar is open to the public. Great people, huge TV'S and a golden tee!
