Great little pocket park in Lafayette, beautiful veterans memorials and playground equipment for the kids. Saw lots of people pulling in to eat their lunch here. Outhouses here Playground: Slides, swings and monkey bars Restrooms: Typical park outhouses, stocked with toilet paper Picnic area: There was two covered picnic patios
I used to love this little park! It makes for a very uncomfortable family outing these days though, it's become nothing more than a homeless camp. You can't sit at any of the picnic tables because most of them have people sleeping on them. All of the little covered protective places with the picnic tables/ bbq pits, usually have tents set up stopping people from being able to use them.
Enjoy this part because it's very quaint but well-kept. While we were there there was barbecues and people having birthday parties and it's just a very good overall experience as far as whether you want to take your children there or just a good place for you and your friends to hang out and have a barbecue or something like that. Definitely would put it on a list if you're looking for a nice part to visit at Playground: Playground well-kept for small children Dog-friendliness: I saw a dog at you there no big deal they were on leashes and they do have bags for you to clean up after your dog Picnic area: Multiple picnic areas with grills picnic tables a few are even covered

It’s a quiet place. It has a men’s restroom. Stinks, but the toilet does work. I saw two other people here. One was walking a dog and had on a mask. Nobody bothered me for not wearing one. The water in the pond is clear and relatively clean.
Well, this park was okay. It's got a nice pond with a little deck. Very small park but has restroomsdirty, playground equipment outdated, small pavilions, and plenty of tree shade. The bf and I did some yoga here. The ducks were cute. However, I got creeped out by a guy driving a tow truck who parked here. He was pacing waiting for someone and asked where I was from. I didn't make so much convo so he walked away. Then another visitor in her car came to tell me he was staring at me. Ahe said he looked like he touched himself. Then another shirtless guy came up to my boyfriend and I saying that the tow truck guy was his friend and a druggie. He was supposedly letting his sick mom stay at his place but that the tow truck guy keeps falling off the wagon. He didn't like that the tow truck guy was talking to some girl and her mom. Anyway, he also said the pond was a sewage pond and there was no fish. He's never seen a fish caught.
Very nice small Park. If you have kids though keep them away from the road speed limit is 40 miles per hour and they do every bit of that and then some. The park has lovely ducks an Ice Pond and I really nice play area for the kids. They have 2 sheltered picnic areas. However, just be advised that there are a few homeless people living in the area.
Peaceful! Commemorative park for veterans...small playground area but perfect for a quiet Grandson/Nana getaway! Nice pond with big water feature and a nice deck...ducks and fish to feed!
Don't I feel somewhat dumb. I've been living in Lafayette for almost 3.6 yrs now & I never noticed and/or heard of Veteran's Park until going there this past week. Driving up I became amazed & excited. This park is very beautiful & thoughtfully laid out when built. What an awesome way to commemorate the lost, but never forgotten soldiers that so freely gave up their life on foreign soil for the rest of us Americans. The park is very clean & well maintained. I've taken approx 32 photos. The lighting was almost dark. I haven't had a chance to do a little minor editing, but I will submit those photos soon. This is an awesome place to go and relax by yourself or enjoy with the entire family. You WILL NOT regret going spend some quality time at Veteran's Park. Now that I know this park exist, i recommend this park to my family, friends, or the general public.Again, great job Lafayette.
Went there to kill time til our ouzzas were done and let the grandson play with new friends.
