After seeing three different Vets for our GSD's chronic itching, we were no closer to a solution than to having her fur grow back in. This clinic came up with a multi-tiered treatment that began working that very first day, and it was worth every single penny. They even caught a serious, long-term ear infection which another Vet had overlooked just one week prior. There is no quick fix for our dog's allergies; she will require daily medication and weekly bathing for the rest of her life, most likely, but she is a happy and healthy dog again (and her fur has returned to that lustrous, soft, all-over coat she's supposed to have). She's also got her feistiness and full drive back--a sure sign of returning to her proper self. Veterinary Dermatology of N.E. are specialists and specialists are NOT cheap, but these people are thorough, they are upfront about costs and approaches to treatments, and they will help your animal be well again. I unanimously recommend them to anyone whose animal has allergy problems.

WARNING! If you are a pet owner that is truly concerned for your pet's welfare, then I STRONGLY suggest that you do your pet a solid, and DO NOT bring them to Dr. Stewart. To avoid writing a small novel and listing the numerous complaints concerning the rude staff and "Doctor", I'll simply pose a rhetorical question to the good Dr Stewart herself; Can you remember when you stopped caring for your patients and clients, or has it always been about the money? No matter your reply, you should genuinely be ashamed of yourself. People trust you with their family member and you abuse that trust without any hesitation or care..shame on you. Take your pet to Tufts Veterinary, you, and your pet deserve proper care. I switched from Tufts in hopes of much shorter travel and paid dearly, don't make the same mistake I did. Please, if only for your pets sake.

It's clear from the moment you start interacting with Dr. Stewart and her associates that their primary concern is dogs. It's important to understand this, because if you are bring your pet here you are most likely a human, and not a canine. This is a small veterinary practice. So you'll be surprised to be treated to an impenetrable phone menu system like you called a multi-national corporation. Don't be surprised if you're waiting around for ages in the lobby either. Our experience with meeting with Dr. Stewart was none too pleasant. We brought our cat to her for a very specific and unusual problem that was diagnosed by our regular vet. However since she hadn't reviewed the charts, we wasted two visits before getting her to consider the condition we were there for in the first place. She was never able to find the problem we KNEW was there because she refused to do the proper test and was dismissive when we even suggested it. She gave us vague instructions as to medication dosages, and different instructions to the pharmacy, and then was annoyed with us when we followed the instructions on the bottle. And when we finally insisted on the testing that our regular vet referred us to her for in the first place she quoted us a price that was five times higher than the going rate. In the end we wasted months and over a thousand dollars here before finally deciding to go to Tufts instead.
