They provide great care. I do have one complaint however. I've been here on a few occasions and have always paid on the spot, no questions asked, in full. This would build my credibility, correct? However on my most recent visit, they were completely unwilling to bill me for services, to pay at a future date. Bear in mind it was not an astronomically costly visit. Combine this with the stress of an emergency visit, this left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth... They do indicate that they require payment in full on their website, however I was provided no quote before services were rendered. X amount of too many $ for an emergency exam (check my dogs heart rate on this occasion). Not to mention the cost for subcutaneous fluid therapy.

Being a dog mom to five fur children and life being "life" I have been a client of VSH on a few occasions. My experiences have always been extraordinary. From the front office staff, nurses and Doctors the care has been more than stellar. The news isn't always what I want to hear, but the compassion is always plentiful. I never feel rushed and everyone takes time to genuinely care for my pet(s) and ensure I understand clearly their procedures and my take home responsibilities. Follow-up calls after the procedures, during hospitalization and after release touches my heart. My dogs are my family and the staff of VSH treats them as such -FAMILY

Excellent customer service. They keep you posted on your animal's condition with regular calls and emails. You are permitted to visit and to bring items of comfort to your pet while they are staying. The doctors are knowledgeable and my dog was very calm given that situation so I could tell that they were treating him well. The pricing is upfront.

I should have written this review a year ago when we first had an amazing experience with VSH. We took our shepard there after he was dealing with some serious complications post surgery for an intestinal obstruction. Since we took him at night we worked with Dr. Shwartz who i hear has since gone to work with dolphins in the keys. We thought we were for sure going to lose him in the condition he was in he hadn't eaten in 4 to 5 days and could not stop throwing up even amidst the previous clinics care. Dr. S and the team turned him around that very night updated us with pictures and emails to help ease our worry. He pulled through but 8 months later we had to take him in again saw the same Dr. To put him down due to a very rough episode of siezures that weekend. Very recently we were there with our lab who had a life thretening emergency condition. This time we worked with Dr. Lippo who from the moment he intoduced himself i could tell his heart was with the animals. After reviewing her case from my vet Dr Michael Gillen who is also amazing and starting her on the appropriate fluids he discused with me her possible situation and the appropriate course of action that needed to be taken. He took his time answering all of my questions and came back out to the lobby to assure me that they would get back to me with more definitave diagnosis, treatment and prognosis after the ultra sound was performed. The front staff is alway welcoming and willing to do what they can to make you and your pet comfortable. The techs came out to transfer her right from my car. They are very good about giving you both a high end and low end complete breakdown of exactly what treatment cost is estimated to be done. I was called promtly and personally from Dr. Lippo to discuss her findings and prognosis. He gave me a little time on a very time sensitive case to think about choices talk to my boyfriend and vet while they waited for blood work. And after taking the time to discuss the case with my vet who called over he was completley honest with the possible grave outcome of her condition. Though he didnt want to put my dog in a money related choice he was very realistic and sensitive about the investment it might take and the quality of her recovery and life after. Though reluctantly we found it in her best intrest to have to say goodbye to myla that day they allowed us as much of the time we needed with her before humainly letting her go. He explained everything with us about the process as we had heard with them before and gave us ample amount of time to be with her again after. He was so compasionate towards us and respectful of all of our decisions. And now that I learned he did schooling in boston and my home state of ri i like him even more! (I do think you guys should get blogs up about all your techs and staff as well. It brings comfort in knowing your team on a very slight personal level)Debra? I think/hope was her name was the vet tech that took care of myla and talked with me from the begging till the end. She was so amazing answering all my questions to the best of her knowledge and giving me all the time i needed with all financial and clinical decisions. As a medical professional myself im always trying to look for the best of the best for my animals, family and myself and you defently have it here with VSH. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

Staff is abrupt & unprofessional. For an emergency facility, they make you and your pet wait far to long prior to seeing a doctor (1.5 hours+). In addition veterinarians are lacking with regards to professionalism did not give the best options with regards to sustainable treatment in emergent situations. We were told to give our dog 7 pills (steroids, vitamin K, 2 types of pain killers, liver stimulant, gastrointestinal relief medication, and holistic blood coagulation medication) twice daily while he was in complete liver failure due to his metastasized cancer. Prior to being given that option the vet recommended euthanasia and we simply requested to give him 1 IM steroid injection & sub-Q fluids so that we could have 1 extra night with him and proceed to euthanize the next day (steroids in order to perk him up/make him more comfortable). The vet was passive aggressive after we decided not to euthanize & instead handed us a total of 80 pills to take home even though she knew he wouldn't last more than 48 hours due to his cancer. Additionally the euthanasia process was horrendous, they didn't provide us with a towel for him to lay on during his last final moments (luckily I had a blanket in the car) and in addition they charged us $180 and refused to mail us his clay pay (they want us to pick it up, and won't pay the $5 to ship it to our house). As someone who works in the veterinary community (vet tech for 5 years locally & at the University of Florida and current veterinary student) that price is an outrage and the process was appalling. UF charges $30 for euthanasia and send the clay paw across the country to the client for free. In addition UF provides a towel/bed for the animal, psychological support during and after the procedure, water, and tissues all for the mere price of $30. If you have an emergency take your dog/cat to the northlake 24-7 ER clinic.
