So I am going to be very honest, at first I didn't like her. When I returned to Dr. Vicki after leaving the area for a few years I brought my daughter back with hesitation. After talking with another parent that her kids to Dr. Vicki I was reassured I made the best decision. Yes, she's a little hard to communicate with but guess what...she is your KID'S doctor. She is advocating for your child. Your child has a voice and she wants to communicate with them. She is evaluating them during their communication. She really cares and she will see your child right away. She is speaking with them to find out how THEY are feeling. Imagine if you were a doctor trying to examine a patient and the people accompanying said patient kept interrupting. It works both ways. You don't tell your mechanic how to fix your car... She is the doctor. You are not. If you have an issue or concern take it up with her so services can be improved. The front desk is wonderful and the nurses are very sweet and patient. We always get in right away and even though she may not be my cup of tea, my daughter loves going to Dr. Vicki and that speaks volumes.

Took my foster son to her as a newborn because she was the only doctor available last minute. She was a horrible listener, missed many signs of delays, and was always too quick to write a prescription. (We couldn’t leave because of DCF) Final straw was when she said about his delays, “Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” referring to his biological parents. Insensitive! The minute he was adopted, we left immediately and never looked back!

My son went to Vicki Smith from about 7 months to 2 years old. She has poor listening skills and loves to hear herself talk. The last straw for me was during an annual check up. She told me my son was underweight. I was fraught with worry and made dietary changes and added supplements. Come to find out, the medical assistant didn't get an accurate weight! I was extremely annoyed at this oversight and the stress that followed for weeks. Upon speaking to Vicki about this, she just acted like it was no big deal. My son was always in the high percentiles for height/weight and still is! 8lb 14oz at birth and this year is in 100th percentile for height and 80th percentile for weight. If a doctors office can screw up something like this, who knows what else they will screw up...We switched pediatricians immediately.
