Wow! What a fun experience for our whole family! Both the adults and kids really enjoyed it immensely. The staff here are absolutely top-notch. The guide inside the zoo itself was truly passionate about bugs and super-knowledgeable. Our guide was amazing. Even the front-desk gal was great to deal with. Inside, it's not a huge facility by any means, but very immersive. Good selection of bugs and some great setups. The Leaf-Cutter Ant setup was really cool. There are even a few opportunities to handle some of the bugs with the guide.

A fun place to spend an hour or so with kids. I don't know where they find their tour guides, they clearly love all the bugs like they were puppies or something cuter. They outright gush about their favorites. I think they would be the first to admit that. The kids absorb some of that enthusiasm from the guides and seem happy to touch and watch the bugs, even if they normally find bugs gross.

I have been here several times over the years. The tour guides help make the experience much better. Don't expect a "zoo" with acres and acres of bugs......it's 2 rooms with about 50 different bugs/insects on display. You can walk through in less than 5 minutes and see everything. 20 if you read all the information about the bugs. If you listen to the tour guides and hold the insects and ask alot of questions, you can spend an hour in here for sure. Bring your camera!

I go here every year with my Grade 8 class and the kids love it! The staff is friendly and they do a good job with their guided tour. The idea of looking at and even holding bugs can be scary to a lot of people but the staff do a great job of engaging the kids and making the experience fun for everyone! The displays are kept clean and well maintained. Their store is a great way to end the tour, as students are given the opportunity to buy bug toys and snacks. If you are in Victoria and haven't been here, add it to your list of things to do!

I was excited to bring my two teens and two little kids to see the bug zoo and was quite disappointed.☹️ After paying to get in, we were directed to go into a room and told that the tour would be ongoing and to just join in. The zoo is a divided room full of different Aquariums of bugs in theme rooms. Tubes go across the walls that bugs travel to and from, their homes are visible....a display of scary yucky bugs in aquariums and posters of bugs. Unfortunately there was already many people present so there was little room to see, or hear the gentleman speak. Maybe an intercom or mic on the guy would make the experience more easily accessible by all guests. The exhibits were neat but not enough to excite an 8&10yr olds who read bug books regularly. So, sadly we were all disappointed. The gift shop on the way out was nice to see because of the bug theme items but was quite overpriced; with the 'cheap' items being mostly dollar store items up priced to $5. It cost me too much for a trip that didn't get the response I was hoping for from the kids. So, I decided one star was appropriate.
