While out looking for silver for a customers photoshoot I came across this place. I was totally surprised this a place like this with such a nice selection of ice cream flavors didn’t have a sitting area. So during this crisis it’s a added benefit. I ordered a milkshake and had a brief discussion about ice cream with a guy named Mark. Very knowledgeable about ice cream, it’s history and the Village area the shop is in. He recommended a pizza shop directly across the street. So I started to consume my shake while waiting on my pizza. The pizza is obviously prepared the old Italian way and was exceptionally delicious. Back to the Milk shake which by now was totally melted. It was just as yummy as milk then when it was a shake. I always crave this ice cream shop. Delicious. Coffeehouse and strawberry flavors are delicious.

The ice cream is great, but they won't let you sit inside and enjoy it. They throw you outside where there are no tables and no chairs. That aspect kind of sucks. I think we are past covid now especially since there is a LOT of air circulation there.

FANTASTIC! What a wonderful place to get ice cream! It has that old school ice cream parlour feel. The staff is happy and extremely polite. The ice cream is super fresh and the service is very quick, unlike the hour-long wait at Cold Stone plus it tastes better! This has been a staple in Maplewood Village for many years and I hope it remains forever. You will never leave unhappy!!! Best ice cream ever! Keep up the great work!

Same ice cream you get in the market. They don’t even hide the large factory box. Tasteless.

I can deal with the cash only even though it’s annoying to always remember to withdraw cash. But I can’t accept being kicked out with my 2 little kids after we spent money there because they don’t allow indoor seating even though they have table and chairs. It was 95F degree outside and they don’t provide any outdoor seating. Horrible and rude.

I can only have dairy free/soy free options and they have 2 choices. I get the mint chocolate chip. It has a coconut milk base. It's delicious. This place only accepts cash.

Ice cream is delicious there!  Their vanilla flavor is great, tasty and creamy, it awakened my taste buds . Customer service was good too! It was my first time there and I I will be going back with my kids.

You can try the flavors before you buy and the staff is nice. This is NOT homemade ice cream; However, they sell Hershey's at homemade prices. With that being said, Hershey's ice cream tastes good, but should not be sold at $2.49 per kid's scoop when you can purchase a half gallon in a grocery store for less than $4. Accepted forms of payment are only cash or check. There are benches against the wall across from the ice cream bar and seating at the window with stools. The Village Ice Cream Parlor is located in the cute area of downtown Maplewood along with many other local stores like Words bookstore, restaurants, Able Bakery, Keller Williams, etc.
