My wife and I were from out of town visiting family and friends in Boynton Beach (Jan 2018). We went to the Village Tavern as part of a group of 5 on a Saturday night. Our reservation was at 7, but we had a fairly long wait and were not seated until around 7:25. Our waiter seemed overly busy and the service quite slow. Other than salads, the menu had only about two options for vegetarians like me. Our waiter said that none of the soups were vegetarian, so I ordered the Spaghetti Squash and Zucchini rather than the veggie burger or a salad. It took quite some time for the food to arrive, and when it did, one member of our party who had ordered a burger with no bun and no onions, found that it arrived with both onions and bun and had to be sent back to the kitchen. My meal seemed proper, but when I was about a third of the way through eating it, I found a large shrimp in the sauce. That killed my appetite entirely since I do not eat any fish or meat and the thought that I had been eating food that contained shrimp appalled me. Good thing that I do not have an allergy to shrimp! Since our waiter was busy it took perhaps 5 minutes to get his attention, and his comment was "Oh, did they put a shrimp in there?". He then started to walk away with my plate, probably to get me a new one, but I got his attention and told him that I wasn't really interested in getting a replacement meal since I was now skeptical of anything vegetarian that they might put in front of me, and the shrimp had killed my appetite anyway. After another delay of perhaps 10 minutes, the waiter returned, handed me a menu, and said that his manager wanted to offer me a free dessert. I would have been happier if his manager had had stopped by personally, but the offer of a dessert was a gesture, I guess. I wasn't in the mood much for dessert, but as a group we picked the Chocolate Torte and everyone tried a sliver. We found that it wasn't very dense, more like a cake than a torte, so if you order it, expect to receive chocolate cake. We asked for the bill, got it after perhaps 5 minutes and correctly the charge for my non-vegetarian meal had been deleted. However, after putting a credit card in the folder with the gill, we waited for over 10 minutes for someone to ring up the charge. Eventually we gave up, walked to the entrance and tried to pay there. One of the hostesses there told us that only our waiter could ring up the bill, so she ran off to find him. This took about another 10 minutes, so even paying was a long drawn out affair. SUMMARY, as a vegetarian I would not recommend the Village Tavern -- the so-called vegetarian options are too limited. I would also not trust the kitchen to keep an order straight, whether a standard off-the-menu item (especially a vegetarian item), or a special order. In our case the restaurant was crowded and slow on the Saturday night (supposedly in the off season of mid-January), and even with our reservation there was a significant delay in getting seated and served. I know that restaurants get busy and unpredictable things happen, but the real test is how you react to such things. In our case it was a cascade of circumstances like crowded restaurant, a busy inattentive waiter, kitchen staff making mistakes, and a Manager uncaring enough about customer relations to visit a very disappointed customer. I'd recommend giving this location a 'pass' if you have any other options.

My family and I love this place. Have been here several times. I can't believe how many people are stating service was terrible because we have never had a bad experience! The salads are fantastic, steaks and burgers are great, wings are awesome! Even the pasta and vegetarian dishes are to die for. Half price wine on "wine wednesdays". It is a little bit of a "pricier" place to eat dinner but definitely well worth the money. Parking is ample but can get crowded on a busy night as there are multiple restaurants/storefronts in this plaza. There is a parking garage. PS- their booths fit a baby carrier perfectly! ETA: My grandmother was just in town and we took her here to eat. Yet another fantastic experience. We split a slice of key lime pie that was absolutely divine. We liked it so much that my Gradma requested a whole pie be made, and frozen so that she could take it on the plane. They followed the request to the letter! We were very pleased with the whole experience. Well done.

My sister and I went here after a friend recommended it to her. I am from out of town , so I wanted a nice meal before I left for home. Long story short. The food was mediocre. Apps were “okay”. Service not good. I had the fish and chips. The tartar sauce was terrible. More of a horseradish sauce than tartar. My sis had the short ribs and it was “okay”. The food reminded of something we’d eat at a food chain like TGI Friday’s or Applebee’s.

I live near by and go here a lot with family and for the most part always have a great meal. Parking is a challenge though in season so leave yourself some time to get there to find a parking spot.

The service was good The rib-eye was fatty. What was not fatty, was hard to chew. Actually, a horrible piece of meat
