I’ve been a member for about 5 years, and their app, website, and overall support have significantly declined. Frequent outages occur, especially during critical times like holidays or lunch hours. Despite these issues, they blame customers, suggesting it’s our phones or apps at fault. As an IT professional with over 10 years of experience, I know these problems are on their end. There’s only so many times a customer can log in/log out, uninstall,install, reboot.. if your app needs all this just to work maybe you should rethink things. Nonetheless it wasn’t the app because as you can see it’s the website also. The technicals can’t access my account either. This credit union fails to properly address issues and treats members as if they lack basic tech knowledge. There is no accountability for the various failures. For every problem they think you haven’t updated the app and will continue to gaslight you as if their outages are your fault. If customer support and reliable access to your money matter to you, I strongly advise against joining this credit union. When these outages occur, you’re completely on your own. The technicians themselves cannot access the money for you or get access to your account. This has happened to me so many times that today I withdrew EVERYTHING. AVOID.
The branch , the employees of all departments are very friendly , knowledgeable, courteous, and always want to help you with your banking needs, customer service at its best ! I love Virginia credit union but relative to all other vacu's I've been to, this one gave me the worst customer service by far. The staff comes off very dismissive and unwelcoming. I had multiple questions when I arrived and only asked one because they were already checked out of any further conversation with me. Worst is that I was the only customer in there at the time. I would recommend going to a different branch.
If you are young don’t join this bank. They really don’t help you with anything. The staff is terrible and unwilling to fully do their job. The lady I was speaking to was highly disrespectful. I have been fed up with VACU for a couple of years now. This is not place you want to go to for any big withdrawals
If I could put 0 stars I absolutely would. I don’t usually post reviews but the customer service in this branch is atrocious. There is no reason for an over two hour wait to be assisted by someone. Not only that but no one seems to have much knowledge on how to look up a customers information or how to communicate.
Wow went in to find out some information about opening a new acct for myself & children but bad service and lack of features turned me off... Then i read the reviews after waiting along time for help & realized what was up! If your young avoid this credit union as they are not for millionions2k customers. They lack the skill for effective on the move young customers. Longstory short I never spoke to any one just left & you should too!
I had a lot of issues trying to refinance my car until I got with Stephen Richardson, he was beyond helpful and cordial and got everything straightened out for me. Definitely go to him if you’re having issues at the bank
VACU is outstanding. I've never anything but a positive experiences. Most of the negative comments here concern things that the credit union can't control -- like float times, federal banking rules, and so forth. If you're a grown-up and you understand how banks work, you'll like VACU.
Never have I been denied a bank account in this country because of status. I am under DACA and I have a car loan, checkings, savings, and credit cards at other banks. Here they will harass you for documents if you are not a citizen. They asked for a VISA and would not accept a authorization for work. I am truly disgusted at them. They said to just go to another bank.
Staff is always friendly but I am not a fan of the limitations. Cannot use some pay apps i.e.: Venmo, cannot refinance for lower rate without a need which means have to take out an additional loan, which makes no sense.
