Story

Since we opened in 1946, Tom and Mary Vona built one of the finest eating establishments in Central New York. We started as a small family restaurant serving homemade Italian dishes with only the finest ingredients. We worked together to establish the "Oswego Tradition" that is famous today. It was Mary's authentic recipes that became so well loved, and her special flare that kept people coming back. Today, over sixty years later, her recipes remain the same with three generations of the Vona family welcoming you to enjoy all that Vona's has to offer.

Good sauce. Dishes usually run around $15-$20. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Professional staff. I'll be coming here again.

Waitress was very nice. We go often. I read the menu carefully because I cannot process oils. I have gallbladder problems. I do okay with butter if it's real butter. The shrimp scampi is supposed to be light wine and butter according to the menu. I received the scampi and it was definitely loaded with oil. If I would have ate that I would be very sick. I was kind about it and sent it back. The shrimp was rubbery too but not the point. They did not offer to fix or remake it. I was charged 18.99 for the meal. The waitress offered a glass of wine in place of my meal??? I'm not a fan of paying for something made differently then the menu states, especially when it can affect my health. They are always very nice though. That is a huge plus. Yes I will go back and give it one more try.

Yum. Some dishes had an unusual, interesting twist to them, not in a bad way, just unexpected. Family is fabulous, gentleman we spoke to had a great story to tell of the restaurant's history. Better ambiance next to the fireplace, otherwise the rest of the dining room seems like a different restaurant. Will go again for good food!

Excellent! Good service, Good food, house wine was decent...what more could you ask for? Didn't have one of the several specials, had the lasagna...perfecto!!!
