Welcome to the heart of Reston's 1,300 acres of open space. Enjoy year round programs, trail access, free parking and restroom facilities dawn to dusk.
The Walker Nature Center provides a variety of educational and recreational resources, programs and facilities. The center enhances people's awareness, knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the environment. It conducts on-site and outreach programs for people of all ages.
The nature center is owned and operated by Reston Association. It was named after Reston's first Nature Center Director, Vernon J. Walker who believed in a healthy coexistence of nature and people.
If you would like to bring a group to the center or arrange for a program by special request, please call or email before your visit.
Through the use of direct experiences and interpretive media, the mission of the nature center is to foster good environmental stewardship and teach people about Reston's precious natural resources.
