We are an artisan bakery and restaurant in downtown Walla Walla. We use local and fresh ingredients in all our products and serve beer and wine.

Story


Seven years ago the Bread Company started as a small bakery with bad bread!

With hard work and dedication, Chef Michael Kline slowly started to increase the quality, and quantity of production. Beginning with employees eating breakfast sandwiches for family meal, students and regular customers requested their own. Shortly after this caught on, a lunch menu including soup and sandwiches was introduced. Coffee, bread, pastries, and limited breakfast and lunch menus are what carried the Bread Company for a number of years.

In May of 2016, we relocated and made drastic expansions. The bakery continues to serve as a separate entity, providing the same and new products as the original location. In addition to the bakery counter, we are a full service restaurant with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and local beer and wine.

The food is good but the staff is lacking in service. Seems that having their tips automatically added to your bill means they don't have to give good service or really much of any kind of service other than bad. Having to ask 3 separate times to get a cup of hot water from 3 different people is not a good sign. I'd have more sympathy if the place was busy but 6-8 other patrons doesn't equal busy. Having worked in a busy restaurant myself and still in the service industry, I pay attention. Sad really since I'd heard good things about the place.

Let my start by saying the food is great, fresh and more unique than I expected from the name. The place is also super cute and has a good atmosphere. However, it's very expensive. I was not expecting those prices. There was also an odd addition to our bill after we saw the original copy. But they fixed it so I won't hold it against them.

The Walla Walla Bread Company was recommended by a friend. It was a great place to have breakfast. Ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was one of the best I have had. We would deferring return when we are in town.

Miss Benzel was amazing. I didn't order food but her and will helped me out with what I need for my work. Amazing bread!

Great place and good food.. They do put an automatic gratuity on your bill. I'm ok with it but what if service is bad? It's 15%.. How do I not tip or lower it. I think they shoot themselves in the foot because i normally tip 18% to 20%. But get perturbed when its expected so I don't tip more.. So confusing..
