Story

Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness (WVCW) is a full service community-based program focusing on the mental health and life enrichment needs of the citizens of Wallowa County. Programs focus on people with mental and emotional disturbances, those with severe mental illness, people with drug and alcohol abuse issues, and people with developmental disabilities. Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness is the primary provider of these services in Wallowa County. The next clinic is 148 miles (round-trip) away in La Grande, Oregon. WVCW serves as the Community-Based Mental Health Program (CMHP) for Wallowa County. The center also works with people seeking to improve their life by providing tools for better living (stress reduction, anger management etc.) Programs are designed to serve individuals, families and groups.

Products

Mental Health Care services include
X Individual counseling using proven treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR
X Group programs including evidence based practices such as Seeking Safety and Women in Recovery
X An outstanding Assertive Community Treatment program for people with chronic issues
X Residential programs for people with severe mental issues and health issues
X Psychiatric care include prescription of medications and medication management
X Case Management support including psychoeducation, help with housing and transportation.
X Peer delivered support including peer support counselors and a peer run drop in center.
X Specific treatment protocols for children
X An Intensive Community Treatment Service program that provides wrap around services for high need children

Alcohol and Drug services include
X Individual Counseling
X A variety of group programs, including an education group, a treatment group, and an aftercare group
X Drug Court
X A wrap around program for families with children
X Co-Occurring Disorder treatment combing addiction work and mental health work.
X Referrals to appropriate in-patient programs when necessary and available

Developmental Disabilities
We offer a full spectrum of support to people with developmental disabilities and their families.
