Walmart has done more upgrades to the self-checkout area, which is what I use almost every time I go there. I don't so much mind their new security efforts, but I don't like the small screen with my face shot staring back at me while checking out. Other than that I like the upgrades that they have done. It helps get through there quicker.

It has its days. I got here damn near everyday for something that at the end of the day I didn't really need lol. Otherwise great friendly staff. Great prices.

We made a quick stop here on the way home just to pick up a few groceries. This isn't our normal Wal-Mart, but I wish it was. The associates went above & beyond for us here. One of the associates in grocery named Carol heard us discussing what we needed to get & was kind enough to offer directions to the aisles we needed. The maintenance man let us into the restroom that he was about to clean rather than making us go to the back of the store as usually happens at most stores. A big thank you to both of them.

When we go into Walmart at 8:00 am the produce shelves are empty and the produce they do have is left over from the day before. Yesterday I was there at 8:30 and the bins were empty of most items other than bananas, apples and a few bags of grapes. I sometimes see only one employee there, if that. I was told by another employee from the electronics department (who was cutting my fabric) that they don't show up until 9:00. I know there is an worker shortage, but really?

Walmart Detroit Lakes Minnesota is a great place to shop. It's always clean and employees are always willing to help. And you don't seem to mind if you have to sleep in the parking lot occasionally.
