Clean respectable campground with a heated pool, clean showers and bathrooms. If there is ever a problem just let them know. The owners a very friendly, kind and genuinely good people. You can't go wrong staying here as long as you also are a good person and respectful. I myself have many wonderful memories here.

this Campground is awesome! Everyone was so friendly including the Staff, always there to help you if you need it. Great for Ham Radio Operators too. Favorite part is looking up at millions of stars on a clear night.

Well our trip started as a weekend from hell. Our truck broke down about a mile and a half from the campground. We called ahead and found the owners to be more than helpfull. We were recommend a garage down the street which set up a tow and repair. Unfortunately they were closed for fathers day weekend but were able to repair the timing belt on that Monday and get us up and running again. Our initial plan was to pick up food for the weekend at a local store after we set up our site. Well you can guess how that went. So all we had were warm drinks small milk, eggs and bacon for next morning. While staying at walnut grove campground we got to know the owners Bruce and his wife Patty we found them to be excellent people. They opened the snack bar for us and made hamburgers for us. Drove us to a store the next day for some things we needed. Lent us a phone charger sunce the one we had plugged into a truck that was no longer with us. And in the end got us back to the garage to pick up our truck. In my opinion I must say that it is a privilege to know Bruce and Patty.Tanks guys for saving our weekend and if anyone asks your campground is the BEST. Dave and Dawn from Ma.

I wanted to love this place, after visiting their lively website and reading the many positive reviews. And maybe for this area of Maine, Walnut Grove is tops. We are used to more picturesque camping with more actual nature and fewer massive RVs. So we were a little underwhelmed by WGC. The lodging itself (rustic cabin and then deluxe cabin) was clean and functional. And the owner Bruce seemed friendly as he rode around the grounds on his golf cart. So that's really all that matters, right? What we didn't love was the atmosphere of this campground. It was kinda depressing. Too many RV's packed into a small area. Many of them seem to be permanent residents? Most of the RV owners seemed to never leave their vehicle/homes because even during high season with a full camp, the grounds were mostly empty except for dog walkers. Why bother paying a campground to park your RV? Just stay home. We expected more outdoorsy, tent camper type families but we got the lethargic, never leave the RV except to hitch a ride to Walmart crowd. I guess that makes me a snob. Not really, it just wasn't the camping experience we expected. The cabins had flat screen televisions with cable the stuff that mattered more to us, like towels and pillows on the beds, were absent. The camp store was ok. The co-owner woman was pretty friendly. (Although charging for bad coffee in styrofoam containers seemed mean to me.) The pool was basic, and clean. The adjacent playground was pretty lame and hadn't been updated in many years, but still seemed functional. I saw a picture on their website of a bounce slide but that must be for special events only. Overall we felt disappointed by the campground - the website did make it seem much livelier and more youthful than the stagnant reality. Maybe with a few updates and a sectioned off area for cabins and tents, it might feel more authentically camp-like. We won't be back, but I wish them luck!
