My family had been vacationing here for years. It is quickly going downhill and had not been updated in ages. The family that provides onsite management and care-taking service is wonderful, but ownership is not putting needed money into the property for basic upkeep. 

What can be improved: Units are in desperate need of deep cleaning including furniture and carpet shampooing,  new linens and fixing broken furnishings. Septic drain field behind cabins 1/2 has been swampy and stinky for at least a year now. We consistently request one specific cabin and have been promised this unit a few times when we called to make reservations, only to make the long drive out there and find out they rented it out to someone else. Or, even worse, it sat empty for the entirety of our visit without explanation as to why we couldn't stay there. Very frustrating.

Why we come back: units with kitchens! This is awesome for family vacations, being able to cook meals instead of relying on restaurants. They let you bring dogs, big dogs. We have 2 large, well-behaved dogs who love the beach, the Walsh allows them in the cabins (but not the beachfront units). Plenty of parking and a private walking path directly to the beach - so nice to not have to drive out on the beach all the time. Reasonable rates, in fact I would say they are very inexpensive.

Will we be back? Probably, as there are not many other options, especially for the dogs. Are we hoping this property undergoes necessary renovations, repairs, maintenance, and deep cleaning? Absolutely! Would gladly pay more for an updated, clean and safe property.

cozy cottages, pet friendly. . smoking and non smoking this place is a home away from home.  it's by no means a 5 star hotel but what it lacks in posh and pampered it more than males it up with the owners sincere friendliness and love for the motel and it's clients. in a cottage which you can have pets
 there also is a 2 story building right on. the beach with a stellar view of the waterfront and hot tubs and fireplaces in the room if you tire of the miles of sandy beaches and soothing sound of the crashing waves. clam digging, crabbing, fishing.. or just beachcombing.. playground on site, plenty of open grassy areas to picnic  or play, and firepower for an evening around a fire.. this is a place I visit a couple times a year. the rates are  competitive if not outstanding considering the location and amenities.

Good and inexpensive place to stay. Room had slight mildew smell but for the price was tolerable. Has a good station for cleaning fish/shellfish including running water and a large pot over a propane burner. Management was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent place to stay ! My 4th time staying at the walsh and in 3 different rooms both cabins and water front rooms are clean and comfortable and both management and staff are friendly ! I will be back .
