Gorgeous! Little sandy beach area that was perfect for my kids to play. ... the mosquitos are horrendous. . Like seriously. But in September apparently they aren't bad! The road up is loooooonnnngggg but definitely worth it.

stars only because there was a campfire ban. Not the camp site's fault but it would have been nice to have been informed of this.

Host was very friendly and the campground was perfect for lakeside camping.  Great place to get away from it all!

We had a wonderful experience at Walupt Lake last weekend. Arriving mid-day on a Friday, there were still plenty of excellent sites to choose from. The campsites are very spread out and large There are several lake-side sites that get reserved quickly- we will definitely plan ahead and try to nab one next time (and bring our kayaks!). Our site was perfect, though- tucked back in the woods. There are faucets for drinking water and well-maintained bathrooms which was a major plus.

The location of the campground is very close to excellent hikes in Gifford Pinchot NF with stunning views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier. Our weekend trip felt almost too short because there were so many hikes and places to explore nearby. We will definitely be planning a trip here again.
