Awesome Customer Service. Went to their store twice and both times was greeted, the staff was eager to assist, answer questions we had. They offered us lessons. We did make a purchase. Excellent all the way around. Not sure about the other posts. Great customer service. I will definitely shop again and definitely recommend.

Great store. I get all of my guitar strings, picks, trombone accessories, and pretty much anything I need that is related to music. The staff is always nice and helpful, & I've never had any issues with the store. I would say that it definitely deserves 5+ stars. I highly recommend it.

I wish I could give a zero star rating. The owners are professional swindlers. I know a couple people that have worked for this establishment over the years so I have heard a few stories. I also know a few other families that have equally bad experiences with this company. I only have one bad experience myself, because I have never returned, but I will share some of the things I have heard as well. I’m not one for hearsay and gossip but you deserve to know how these people operate their “business”. I brought my sons saxophone for some basic maintenance. Probably an hour or two of work. I was told that the repair man would have it back in “a few days”. This was fine because he didn’t really need it til the next weekend for a performance. I later found out that this repair man only comes into this store once a week. I brought the sax in on Friday, the repair guy is only there on Thursdays so he didn’t even pick it up til the following Thursday so they had my horn for six days before the tech even looked at it. Then when I came in a week later to check on it, I was told it wouldn’t be ready until the next Thursday. I was obviously frustrated by this new information. When I inquired about a loaner horn for my son to use I was told they only provided loaners for students that participate in their band rental program. Talk about customer service. If they had told me up front how long it was going to take, I would have made other arrangements. I have been informed that this is a common practice for this business. They say they can have an item ordered and it will arrive in just three days when in reality it can take over a month, even though you pay for it up front. They are equally helpful in all aspects of their business. I strongly recommend that you do not consign your merchandise here. You are better off dealing with scammers on Craigslist. I personally know a few people that had to jump through hoops just to get their money after this store sold their merchandise. One man I know consigned several nice guitars and had to threaten a lawsuit just to be paid and even then he only received partial payments over several weeks rather than a lump sum even though the store had already collected all the money for the sale of his guitars. I was told by an ex-employee that on more than one occasion a customer has come in to check and see if their item has been sold the owner, knowing full well that the item had indeed been sold, said that she couldn’t find the item and would have to check at their other locations to confirm if it might have been moved to another store rather than acknowledge they already sold it to avoid having to write a check to the customer. This is the same company that runs the Bill Hardin store in Macon and they used to have a location on Watson. They were known for questionable business practices back in the day and I know people that won’t even walk into this business because they experienced an awful interaction or were “ripped off”. One of my neighbors put two drum sets on layaway at Christmas a few years ago At their Bill Hardin store in Macon. One for his son and one for his granddaughter. He paid for them in full, he just didn't have anywhere to store them until Christmas so the store owner said my neighbor could just put them on layaway and the store would hold them til Christmas. My neighbor goes to pick up both drum sets on Christmas Eve. Guess what? The crook of an owner didn't have the drum sets. After taking the full payment for both kits (close to a thousand dollars) he turns around and sells the kits to other people... wtf. They tried to offer a couple guitars and amps instead but my neighbors kid and grand kid specifically wanted drum sets. Too bad the store was sold out. After getting the run around for a bit my neighbor threatened to sue and he finally got a refund. He ended up having to drive up to Atlanta to buy his drums at Guitar Center, where he should have gone originally.

***UPDATED Reply*** There may be some new staff at the store now but the lady that manages/owns it is the one that we had problems with. So I don't see how new employees will help to make it any better. It sure is easy to blame your stores problems on employees that are no longer working there anymore. Nice and convenient... If your store is suffering because of bad employees that comes back to bad management. Also, it didn't happen that long ago. This was just over a year ago, maybe a year and a half. We dealt with the older dark haired lady. I think her name was Dona. Just read over some of the reviews here and I have to say they are spot on. The replies from the "manager" are hilarious. She is completely clueless and has no business running a business. To say they normally have good feedback concerning their customer service is the biggest joke I've ever read. Either she is lying or people are lying to her. I know for a fact they have some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Their repairs take forever. The review about them losing a saxaphone for six months that was supposed to be repaired doesn't surprise me at all. I've heard plenty of horror stories from kids in my band class at HoCo. Their band rental program is a pretty good deal but they never sent in our paperwork when we returned our horn. My dad got charged for three months after we returned my clarinet because the rental company never received our paperwork from the store. From what my friends have told me, this was not an isolated incedent. Their selection sucks. I waited for three weeks because they kept telling me they had the book I needed for school on order and it would be there any day now. I believe they said, "it was on the truck and they were just waiting for the delievery" four different times. I understand that things get backordered and delayed, but to blatantly lie to my face is unacceptable. We paid for it up front and even after three weeks of giving me the runaround they wouldn't give me a refund, just store credit. What a load... I eventually ordered it off Amazon and got it in two days. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.

okay.. so ninth grade, my alto saxophone broke. now marching season was just around the corner so i HAD to have something to play. i took it in to get it fixed, and they said theyd call in a week or two for me to pick it up. in the meantime i borrowed a friends sax, and waited. and waited. and waited. a month later we called and they told us it was still being repaired. so i waited some more. and some more. another month goes by and we call again and get the same response. this keeps up until marching season has come and gone and we were well into concert season. six months had gone by, finally my mom got fed up and goes in to find out what had happened and why i STILL didnt have my saxophone. turns out theyd lost it and it never got sent in to be fixed. they found it two weeks later sitting in the back of the store. we got no discount, no replacement saxophone for the time it was gone, and the staff was completely unconcerned. its also the closest store to my house so i always go there to get reeds and all that good stuff. every time ive ever been in there the staff has no clue what theyre talking about, they are always unhelpful and not even really all that nice. this store is literally a joke. i started laughing when i read all the other reviews because just about everyone else has about the same opinion.
