I come here every year. The rooms are lovely and quaint. The management is always very nice. The canal location is beautiful. However, amenities are old and sometimes non-functioning and The bathtubs leak. However, I keep coming back every year

Located in St. James City, FL on Pine Island in the gulf coast. It is a quaint ecclectic fishing village, with lots of vibrant colored buildings and houses with a lot of local artistry on display and for sale, it was a very laid back place. The room had a fridge, microwave, cable TV, and hot water. The room was simple but very clean. The canal that lead to the ocean was 15 ft from our room with plenty of docking for boaters. Actually got to see manatees right outside our door. Great,relaxing experience would definitely visit again.

Called tonight to see if the might by chance have a room available and apparently the person at the front desk controls every hotel and motel she told me that there wasn't any place available for us.. Wouldn't allow me to talk! Rude, talks over you and doesn't allow you to ask questions. Every one I call was so helpful and nice in directing us to other hotels until I got to this rude lady

Have stayed here at least 5 times in the past 10 years. Such a nice place to stay. Clean rooms, great fishing. But beware of the manager. Last year (2009) she gave me a price on the phone and then when we went to check out it was about $100 dollars more. She said she must of looked at the old rates. Liking the place so much I payed it without argueing. Then I called there in the second week of May (2010) to see about a room for the same time we stayed last year. She said they had one room left and it was the same room we had last year BUT she jacked the price up almost $200 more. So if you plan on staying there make sure they email you the pricing then copy and take it with you. If the owners ever change management I will return until then I will be staying at the Ferndale Lodge in Sebastion FL. which is just as nice and the fishing is great for only $345 a week. YES they have a dock to keep your boat, at no charge.

February 2012. Just stayed here for 8 nights. Very clean. Spacious. Full kitchen. A little outdated but still worth staying in. Right on the canal. Watched the Manatees swimming in the canal. Great spot. Near restaurants. Ellie, the manager is a great help with anything. Really nice lady. Price is right. Will certainly return.
