Story

Situated on a peninsula of 25 pristine wooded acres, Wateree Recreation Area is designed for the recreational enjoyment of military members, their families, retirees and all other authorized DoD customers. Join us for the day to swim or have a cookout or stay all season long at one of our full service RV sites. Wateree offers something for everyone! We even offer Wi-Fi so you can read your Kindle or upload pictures to Facebook while you wait for the fish to bite!Reservations may be made 90 days in advance by active-duty military members and 60 days in advance by all other authorized users.


The facility offers 11 two-bedroom cabins, two 3-bedroom cabins, and one 1-bedroom cabin. Each cabin is fully equipped with linens, towels, dishes, pots, pans, coffee makers, microwave ovens and TV.

Other park features include 22 recreational vehicle sites with 20/30/50 amp electric service, water and sewer hook-ups, tent camping and seasonal lake swimming. A 3,500-sq. ft. recreation hall with game room and kitchen for use by groups for private parties, conferences and special programs is available. Additionally, the park has a playground, fishing, boat docks, boat launch, 3 covered picnic pavilions,
public bathhouse, picnic tables and barbecue grills. Jon boats, ski boats, pontoon boats, pedal boats, SUP's, pedal kayaks and kayaks are also available for rent.

For customer convenience, a small re-sale store offers bait, tackle, beverages, snacks, charcoal, lighter fluid, travel mugs, water bottles, T-shirts and more for sale.
