Four hours from initial call until I had a new fully functioning hot water heater at a reasonable price.  Josh was great.  Knew what he was doing and explained everything.  
And yes I did shop around and get other estimates first.
The company is based in Oroville but covers most of the region 24/7.  We are in South Yuba City.

Priced too high. Pilot light went out on my heater and i couldn't get it relit. 

I called and the technician came out, and he spent the first 10 minutes trying to sell me in getting a new water heater before he even tried to diagnose or fix my current unit. They charged $159 for a "cleaning of the filter", which was just vacuuming around the bottom of the tank.   I needed a new igniter, which they charged another $99 for the part that costs $15 online. When I asked about why the part was so expensive, the technician couldn't answer but kept asking me where I saw that $15 dollar price.  I called the owner Rich, and he dodged the question with "think of how much money we saved you compared to you needing a new water heater". Lame. Learn from my mistake and go with a more honest company for your water heater troubles.

Pretty typical experience with greedy plumber:  Quoted $89 to clear a toilet stoppage but wound up charging $270 just because they had to snake it from the roof.  Three times the quoted price for an extra 20 minutes of time?  Same problem a year ago with a different company cost $90 and they also snaked from the roof.  Shame on me for not remembering their name. Anyway, Watkins did show up and they did clear the stoppage - but the price was way too high and I felt I was suckered in with the lowball initial quote that was unreasonably tripled once the job was done.

Never again.  New Takagi authorized rep.  Knows nothing about the product then tried to get me to pay for his On The Job training.  Suggested I replace everything, the entire water heater (ncluding the venting) for $2500 since he and the Takagi factory technician  could not figure out what was wrong with this 5 year old unit.  Watkins actually asked me to pay for the hour that he was either on hold or getting jerked around on the phone with the factory.  Also said he would not replace the water heater with what I wanted, only with an $1100 unit he "decided" was what was needed.
Unbelievable what some plumbers are willing to try to rip you off!!
