i have lived here for 20 years. for 15 of the 20 years I called the police almost every weekend for domestic violence. They did nothing to help me. My husband at that time threatened to kill me. I got a restraining order against him in 2003. He has violated this order over and over and over again and the police do nothing about it. nothing.... I recently went back to court regarding the violation of the restraining order and the judge gave my ex a parole officer for 1 year. The restraining order is good for 4 years. This is my 4th restraining order against my ex and I don't trust the police to do anything if he violates it again. Also my neighbor threatened to kill my kills and their friend in my back yard, because we were laughing and having fun. He was drunk. The police did NOTHING about that either. They have a Male gender bias and are ANTI woman who need help. There are two woman on the police force and I will give them a A+++ but this police force needs to fire the chief and get a woman to manage it. They could do a better job.

Bravo Zulu to the WPD for their response to my traffic accident, when someone rear ended me. The officer was very polite and concerned and stayed near until the paramedics arrived. She also made a of point of telling me she knew I had my seat belt on and used my turn signal.

Tonight I learned that if you have a real emergency, or any emergency at all, avoid calling Waukesha PD at all costs. I called in a wreckless driving incident after a vehicle had stopped across both southbound lanes of traffic on Grandview in front of Kwik Trip, nearly causing a collision with myself and other traffic traveling southbound on Grandview. After waiting on the line with dispatch for approximately 15 min, a squad finally arrived, might I mention we were just around the block from the PD, but that is aside the point. While on the phone with dispatch, the offender was screaming at me through my locked door, threatening to fight me and insisting he had done nothing wrong and would "get away with it." Now at the time, this gentleman seemed insane, but in hindsight, I have a strange hunch he is buddy buddy with someone on PD. After the squad arrived, the officer talked to the suspect first, not me, which I thought was strange but did not question the actions of the officer that was supposedly there to protect and serve. The suspect was parked illegally in Sunset Banks parking lot, but that obviously meant nothing to the officer. The officer talked to me, then proceeded to go inside the bank, and at the time that was not very clear to me, as the incident that I reported did not happen at the bank. The officer then returned outside, shook the hand of the wreckless driver and sent him on his way, no tickets, no warnings, no nothing, then proceeded to arrest me for getting upset with the man that almost caused a 35mph T-bone collision. I was told that stopping in the middle of the road is not wreckless, shouting at someone through a locked car door, pounding on the window and threatening to fight is not disorderly, but approaching an individual that almost caused a collision with you is infact the only crime that was committed. The officer claimed that I had a history, however, that is not true. The officer was using an incident that happened a year prior, where I was threatened to be shot, as something that was my fault that I could have prevented, and that was his reasoning for detaining me. Neither of the arresting officer read me my Miranda Rights. On the way back to the station, Officer Ryan Solberg illegally and irratically merged lanes, without the use of a turn signal. When I confronted him about this, he had no response, and just blatantly ignored my concern. When we got to the station, I learned that I was arrested and booked for a municipal ticket, that very well could have been issued at the scene if need be. The officer insisted that he did not have enough evidence to issue and charge to the original suspect that I called in, however he had a statement from my passenger, as well as the option to get video footage from the Kwik Trip. The officer informed me that everything he does is at HIS discretion. Does that mean the law only applies in an officers discretion? The officer got the time of incident as well as my DOB wrong on the citation. The officer had his iPhone out nearly the entire time I could visually see him, very professional. He even forgot to remove my belt before walking me through the metal detector and overroad prints in the computer that the system declined, but he thought looked "good enough" What have I learned after this afternoons incident? -If you have the option to avoid an automobile accident that would not be your fault, do not avoid it. Go ahead and get in the accident, otherwise the other person is not at fault for any wreckless driving. -Do not call Waukesha PD if you are in need of assistance in the area. Call dispatch and request a State Trooper if completely necessary. Waukesha PD is money hungry and play the buddy buddy game (ie. Being friends with an officer puts you above the law) -You do not need turn signals to merge lanes, can merge erratically as you want, and can do so without checking blindspots. Wreckless driving must be okay according to Waukesha PD -The law is at Waukesha Police Officer discretion. The law only holds up if the Officer feels like it should.

I'm a restaurant manager in the area that is open 24-7. Sometimes, we get questionable people in or outside of our restaurant, or even fights. These officers are always quick to respond to my calls and are very polite and courteous to myself and my staff. Thank you for all you do!
