Great community resource! Books not available locally can be requested from regional libraries.

I've been coming to this library for 5 years and in those five years have made some strong negative feelings. I decided to buy a card over at Spalding to avoid as much as possible as coming here. The board is continually fighting with each other, and firing/rehiring librarians on what seems an annual basis. There is very limited parking. It's a serious quiet zone. There is just one floor that you can see end to end. The childrens department was making head way, and then the librarian got let go for a second time. I've been in the children's corner when someone actually came and asked a mother to quiet her children. Basically this is a hot spot for wifi, computers and tutoring. The staff are rude. Many of my friends of complained similarly. I just recently wentry in to see why my book wasnt in and there was confusion ( like so many times). Another staff member piped up and said the book was missing. Wanting to know if I should wait for it to turn up or do something else, I simply asked " what do you mean?" . She replied, " missing, don't you know what missing means? ". It was rude and loud. I could keep going with sad details of their lack of progress to keep up with the community, how librarians get fired for trying to do their job and how many members on the board are unqualified to be there. It's a sad state of affairs. This library could reach and impact the community in much better ways( even with their limited space and parking). This library even put an article in the paper last year admitting to a lot of these complaints and then vowing change. The only change was mandated so they could adhere to disabled persons ( because before that it was not disability friendly). I'm so sad to leave such an awful review, but I feel it needs to happen. Maybe it will spark some discussion, maybe that discussion will lead to thinking and maybe then there will be some change.
