Visited on a rainy Sunday after starting at the south street seaport museum. Really cool experience! Lots to check out above and below deck. Staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend going on a sunny/dry day. If you go on a rainy day it is fine, but it was a bit slippery, so wear sneakers with good grip. Great experience and a great way to learn about the history of New York City!
Visiting the Wavertree Museum was a fascinating experience, especially exploring the old ship. Walking its decks and imagining the maritime history it holds was truly captivating. A journey back in time that I highly recommend to anyone interested in nautical heritage.
Presumably this opened only recently to the public, since this low volume of reviews surprises me. This floating museum is a MAGNIFICENT experience, and costs nothing! Well maintained and restored for the rigging and woodwork. Very friendly tour-guides/employees, especially the young lady by the anchor winch who advised me about this tour operator's sailing trips.
You can sign up for a free tour of this old cargo ship. The tour is neat, giving you a look into the depths of the what was involved. You can then get free reign of the rest of the ship and capture some really cool photos. Being on Pier 16, there's plenty to do in that area generally.
This is a really cool 19th century cargo sailing ship that has been restored and is now a museum as a part of the South Street Seaport Museum. You can go below deck and see the cargo hold, peak in at the kitchen, peruse the captain’s saloon, and even snap a picture at the helm. The contrast to the skyscrapers around it makes for a unique experience.

Oldest cargo sail ship in the world, with long story working all around the world found the last port at Pier 16 in Manhattan.
We didn't have time to visit the museum, which was a shame, but it looked amazing.Visited onWeekend
