We came to wayku for my boyfriend’s birthday which happens to also be on Valentine’s Day. We had such high hopes for the food but it was disappointing. The service was however good. For our appetizers we got the crab empanadas, weird flavor and we forced ourselves to eat it. We also got the tuna tartare, it was good, I’ve had better. For our mains I got the octopus and he got the short rib, the short rib was tender so was the octopus. Both weren’t bad. Then we got the desert, the mango desert was the worst of it all. Another thing we forced ourselves to eat. It was an overall mushy dessert, served in a mason jar which was hard to eat. Weird texture and flavor just not great. For the over price of everything it wasn’t worth it. Sad that we celebrated Valentine’s Day and his birthday here. The food is pretty but not that great.
Absolutely beautiful place with nice music, but for some reason was so empty on Wednesday night. Was only 2 tables taken. I loved that it was enough vegetarian options to order. And food was delicious. Corn is super yummy. Avocado cheesecake was amazing! And music was great, I shazamed a few songs. Also ask for 20% off flyer on a bar.
I will start with positive, the Crab Empanada and the Tropical Inca good. The avocado cheese cake excellent. Now let’s get into why this place gets 1star My husband chose this place for date night and the host was not accommodating at all. My husband asked if we could be seated in the back which seemed dark and intimate to set the ambience for our date, however he kept saying no. My husband saw empty tables and he kept saying no. We left but my husband wanted to come back because he was set on this place. Came back and there was a server at the door, my husband asked for a table at the back and to our surprise there was about 3 tables available so we felt it was discrimination from the other person who looks like Rick Moranis. Let’s get into the food I didn’t like HUANCAINA SHRIMPS to me it lacked flavor and I found some hard shells in one of the shrimps. My husband ordered BRAISED SHORT RIB I personally Felt it lacked flavor and was bland. I don’t expect it to be high in sodium but I was expecting some robust flavors. The short rib was tender I give you that. I really wanted to love this place since I am a local. But I guess it will serve great for tourists. One last thing $14 for a 20oz bottle of water is beyond ridiculous!
A solid 4.5 hands down. We dined there on a Friday night about 8ish and when we first arrived only a few tables were taken but within an hour the place was jumping. First let me say, the service was AWESOME, from a friendly and welcoming greeting upon first arrival until we departed we actually were one of the few last tables to leave we were well taken care of. Very minimalistic in design with an open kitchen and small inside dining. Outside is expansive and cozy with the right mix of music and atmosphere. Next up the food: some very unique dishes well prepared, and presented and really delicious. The Tuna Tartare and Hamachi Tiradito to jump things off were scrumptious! Next, the Black Risotto and Braised Short Rib were mouth watering off the chart. The Sea Bass started off ok but as my friend got more into it she thought it was very good. And there is a nice wine selection to accompany whichever meal you choose. As far as price and portions as some have complained, we didn't see a problem at all and thought everything was well balanced. Think our bill was close to $300; given we had drinks when first arriving and a bottle of wine at dinner which makes this in the ballpark of fine dining prices in Miami. Taking off a star bc our buddy whose a Vegan, thought the selections were minimum and what he had felt didn't quite cut the cake. So you Vegans, be warned! Haha. But the owner stopped by and we explained and he was gracious in accepting the feedback, indicated they are trying some different Vegan dishes and gave my buddy his business card offering him to return and he would personally take care of him. All and all for a restaurant which has only begun to breathe life, believe 4 months since opening, they are off to a very good start. And we will definitely be back! Bravo, well done!
Amazing restaurant! Beyond our expectations, food was incredible, great flavors, fantastic combinations. DELICIOUS!! All the staff was great, but our server Cande Candelaria was absolutely adorable and attentive. The ambience and the music was so relaxing and cool. Can’t wait to come back! Lava cake it was the best dessert for me, the dulce de leche cake not so much.
Amazingly delicious! OMG the Mandarino cocktail is out of this world ! The desserts as well. The service was amazing as well ! The ambiance is great ! it is expensive, but worth every bite and cent ! The lamb chops are just perfection and the dessert the one with all chocolate I can’t remember the name is just glorious !
Miami Spice 2021: We arrived at 9:30 after the restaurant called and pushed our reservation back from 9:15pm. They sent us to the bar for a "5 minute wait" and were seated at 9:50pm. We placed our orders and received appetizers 20 minutes later. Our entrees didnt arrive until 10:50. Our table ordered 3 burgers and they couldnt tell us whose burger was whose different temperature. One of our friends ordered well done but received the medium. It took us about 15 minutes to flag a server over for us to let him know and they brought a new one out. I ordered the salmon but it was a little plain the salad it came with was tasty. Another person in our party ordered a bowl, which came with short rib and fresh ingredients. The dessert was a chocolate brownie kind of cake with yuzu and caramel frosting that was a hit with most of our party. Overall I think the food was good, and the service took away from the experiece. I'd maybe give it another shot on a weeknight when it isnt so busy.
First time visit for Miami Spice 2021. Came on a Wednesday evening around 7pm. Outdoor seating area only had one other table taken. Service was prompt and attentive throughout the meal. Our meal was good but not great. Nothing we ate was bad but also not particularly memorable. The burger was more bun than meat in my opinion. The cocktails were my favorite part of the meal. The Miami food scene has become particularly cut throat and I just don't see myself returning here.
I went here for brunch and got the avocado toast. It was pretty but I didn't like the flavor. The avocado was whipped more like smooth guacamole than the avocado chunks I wanted. It's definitely over priced for what it is. We were charged $55 for a pitcher of mimosas and $14 for still water that they kept refilling when we did not ask for more and were not told water cost extra. The food, people, and restaurant are pretty, but its only easy on the eyes, not the stomach or wallet.
Let me start with the positives. The wine was delicious the appetizers were really good and the service was ok. However unfortunately I ordered the Sea Bass and it was so raw that I could hardly cut it with a knife so I had to take it back. They brought me another Sea bass after having to wait almost an hour and It was cooked well on the outside but it was raw in the center. I uploaded two photos. The first photo is fully raw sea bass and the second photo is half cooked sea bass. Notice how the first one looks flat and it has no flakes. Not only that they still made us pay for it even though I could not eat half of it. When we told the waiter she told us that she will speak to the manager. After 30 minutes she comes back with the full check and two glasses of prosecco and the full check. She said that unfortunately they will have to charge us because "that's just the way that they cook it". I felt insulted that after they put my life and my health in danger by serving me raw food, still charge for it and think that two glasses of free prosecco is going to somehow kill the bacteria that is probably still in my stomach right now. This place is trash and they should not be in business
