Weed & Duryea of New Canaan (a division of Northeast Building Supply) has been serving lumber and building supply professionals, as well as homeowners, since 1868 at its convenient location in the heart of New Canaan. Weed & Duryea is recognized as New Canaan’s general store for paint, tools, housewares, and lawn and garden products. Our expansive design showroom features a wide selection of windows, doors, millwork, and cabinetry.

While it doesn't always have the best prices, the service is above and beyond anything you get at the giant hardware stores. And Weed & Duryea has a lot to offer inside and outside the store. Great grill selection.

Weed & Duryea building and home supplies located on Grove street in New Canaan across the street from Walter Stewarts Market is an excellent source for all types of home goods from coffee pots to snow shovels. I bought my first snow shovel at Weeds when my landscaper didn't show up. Their coffee makers are German designed to make an individual cup of coffee as well as a full pot available in glass or stainless steel. The prices are competitive with most leading home stores. They have custom made wooden furniture on display outside this large home supply store. I love their handmade benches available in all hardwoods and finishes. Christmas Trees and handmade decorations are available at Weeds seasonally. They have excellent building supplies with great service always available to help you find exactly what you need. When I wanted a special high intensity light they were able to find it for me taking the time to install it free of charge. Open 7 days a week Weeds is the place to go for home and building supplies with a custom edge in a large light filled environment. Call before you go to have it ready for you upon your arrival in record time. Weed & Duryea is the best home supply store I know it's absolutely excellent with outstanding service and superior products you won't be disappointed. Architects and builders get a10% discount. Note: Weed and Duryea serves fresh buttered popcorn on weekends made in an original popcorn machine giving their customers excellent service.

Expensive and limited selection. That being said service is good and beats going to the zoo that is home depot.

Pricey but who wants to drive to Home Depot? They have a decent selection and are usually helpful. I go there a lot. But for a local hardware store - how can they not take used batteries and florescent light bulbs back for recycling? Wow, really? They sold them to me.
