All the brochures you need to enjoy the adjacent state lands and three reservoirs. Office staff is most accommodating. Taxidermy displays and dioramas including black bears, deer, fishers and birds will have interest for all ages. Public rest rooms and a meeting room can be made available for some organizations. A great place to stop for a 15-20 minute break.

Roaring Creek Tract (Weiser State Forest District # 18) starting at Kline's Reservoir at the bottom of the mountain from the office affords a variety of outdoor recreation from hiking, biking, jogging, hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, wildlife watching, nature study, cross-country skiing and picnic areas. Kline's Reservoir is the smaller of three. Roaring Creek Tract is about 8 miles of popular hiking, biking, walking and jogging. Shared use trails are around 40 miles total. Fishing is catch and release only with other restrictions. Boating has it's own regulations. There are at least a dozen other special regulations in addition to the posted State Forest Rules and Regulations concerning camping, swimming, wading, horseback riding, liquid fuel motors, ice fishing, open fires, etc. Some areas are restricted around the reservoirs. It's best to check at the office just off Rt. 42 near Artistes. Rangers do patrol too. Last visited to kayak, enjoy the area with family members. Ample parking just off Rt. 42 at Kline's Reservoir. The area is well kept. Rt. 42 and the bridge crossing over Kline's Reservoir newly resurfaced and rebuilt over the summer. More information can be found on DCNR state forest website or by calling the office. Closer to Aristes this SF borders SGL 329. This State Forest Land through several partnerships was acquired and designated as such in October 2003 and continues to be managed as a high quality water supply. Highly recommend for those who love the outdoors! Watch for snakes though. Enjoy! [Aristes in (Columbia Co.) as well as the remaining residents of Centralia are an Ashland (Schuylkill Co.) phone number and mail coverage route. Sections west of Aristes, (Wilburton #1 & #2) may be Mt. Carmel mail coverage route and phone listings, possibly Northumberland Co. Homes north of this area are most likely Catawissa, Numidia or Bear Gap listings. It's several counties and townships converging along this area].

Referring to Roaring Creek Tract: Lots of trails to mountain bike, ranging from flat hard-packed gravel roads to more technical and rocky single track depending on your experience.
