I took my friend's son to Welch village to go MTN biking on Sunday Sept.24, 2017. We drove 80 miles. They wouldn't let us, because I wasn't his parent. Bad representation. It makes kids feel bad coming from a blended family. We made a good day out of it anyways. Went to Afton Alps, rode their trails & had a great time. Saved some money also!

Best variety of slopes most runs in the area! I just wish they would open up some tree runs and invest more time and money into the terrain park. The downhill mountain bike trails are really fun as well, especially being their first year for downhill trails.

Apparently, if your child doesn't share your last name - due to divorce, the mother taking her maiden name back, or even a long standing friend of the mother's whose given permission and all necessary information in case of an emergency - your child still isn't able to participate in the MTB Park without a birth certificate to prove the child is yours. Even though nothing in their online rules suggests needing to bring a birth certificate or that blended families would be unwelcome. My son was treated horribly and made to feel as though a blended family was the worst thing in the world. Sounds a lot like discrimination against blended families to me. . . If your family is blended or you are a single mother who doesn't share your child's last name, don't go to park. I wouldn't recommend it. Ever.

I've gone there for 7 years, and after 7 years of rude staff, I finally need to write a review and start going elsewhere. I went to their mountain bike park this summer, it was fun, but I can't stomach their staff anymore. Only nice person was the check out window lady. The rest are a bunch of jerks.

Some people say Afton is better, but the trade is this place has something for every skier and snowboarder. If you're a wimp, they have beginner runs, if your a pro, they have diamond runs. If you like to do tricks and be cool in front of your friends, they have a terrain park for that. If your not an experienced Skier, they have the Ski Link learning center to help you with the basics of Skiing. Heck, if your a parent and you're not into the whole skiing thing, they have a bar inside the main chalet building on the second floor. There is also a cafeteria that has a variety of food options, including some healthy options as well.
