Wellesley Fire Department consists of a total of 55 personnel, broken down as follows: 1 Chief of Department, 1 Deputy Chief, 1 Captain in fire prevention, 4 Shift Captains, 12 Shift Lieutenants and 36 Firefighters, and 1 civilian Administrative Assistant.
The department operates out of 2 stations. Station 1 is located on Central St at Weston Rd and Station 2, which is headquarters, is at 457 Worcester St (Rte 9 at Rte 16). Station 1 houses Engine 1 and spare Engine 4. Station 2 houses Car 3 (shift captain), Engine 2, Quint 3, Tower Ladder 2, and spare Engine 5 along with Car 4 (fire prevention), and Medic 1.
The paramedic service provided to the town is operated by American Medical Response (AMR) out of Natick, MA.
The department answers roughly 4,000 calls per year. They vary between medical emergencies, Carbon Monoxide alarms, smoke alarm activations, structure fires, mutual aid calls, etc.
