UPDATE: 4.17.2022 7:51 p.m. 'OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN' I made the mistake of stopping at the GAGE location out of desperation. THIS LOCATION JUST NEEDS TO CLOSE. We pulled into the FULLY LIT restaurant, with multiple vehicles in the parking lot, because we saw 2 employees in the drive thru window and trusted that they were working. When we pulled around to the drive thru menu, before we spoke, we were told, very quickly and quietly, that they were closed "due to lack of staffing." So, why are all the lights on, including the menu board? Are you incapable of shutting the lights and board off? Are you guys so broke that you can't buy a piece of poster board to tape to your menu board stating that you're closed. Could you spend $5 on a road cone to place in your drive-thru indicating it is closed, like other restaurants do? I'm embarrassed to say that this is not the first time I fell for the 'lights on' trick. It had been very irritating, during a couple of previous disappointments, when the only indication you had that you were not open was the little eight and a half by 11 piece of white paper on the drive-thru window that said you opened at 11 a.m. Of course, this was only able to be read after I had driven around the building and pulled up to your window. PLEASE, just give up. I was much more understanding during the lockdown. But the fact that the other Wendy's locations do not seem to suffer from the same problems as this one is a clear sign that this location is a problem. When other businesses that have multiple locations are having staffing issues they move staff between locations. Why not this location? Is it because it is the least profitable? Do us all a favor and close this location so that you can focus your energies on the others. I promise to visit the 8th & Topeka location and, less often, the newest, North Topeka location.
Wendy's is the king of good, filling, cheap meals. Their 4 for 4 meal is my standard when I'm out and about and need a quick meal. This Wendy's location was busy! The drive thru took a long time. The food was standard Wendy's. Good chicken nuggies, decent fries a drink and the perfect junior bacon cheeseburger. Everything looked good. Everything tasted good. The girl in the window did an excellent job answering my questions all while being friendly. A solid performance from this Wendy's. I liked it! #NatsJourneys #KCFoodie #CulinaryAdventures #ExploreYourCity #TopekaKS #NatApproved
This is the 2nd time at this location.. U have to check your bags for your food and napkins spoons straws. And to c if they cooked it correctly or even giving u fresh fries when u request. Its either made sloppy or they forget your request. This will b the last time at this location. This is a picture of a grilled chicken wrap. tortilla was soggy they put to much sauce and cheese which I ordered no cheese the lettuce was limp couldn't eat it.
It would help if you actually got the food the way you ordered it. And not have it missing stuff and have extra stuff on it that didn't belong. It was supposed to be a double stack with only Mayo, lettuce, pickles and onions. Below is a picture of the sandwich as how I received it.
This location has been known for bad food and bad service for years. Oftentimes they would be understaffed, serving incorrect orders, unsafe food, and overall not a great experience. I would recommend the locations on Wanamaker and Topeka Blvd as a much better option than the Gage location.
Ordered a double on nbr 7 only got a single. Fries were cold. The brown stuff to drink was not coke! No receipt given. 2 orders of the chicken bites were perfect! Service is great but can't service what is ordered... so sad1
This place is permanently closed
Ordered an avacado southwest salad and there was no avacado. Fries were cold even though they advertise fresh hot fries guaranteed. Will not visit this store again. Edit. I decided to call the store to let them know my experience, and inform them so they could check the other salads so this didn't happen again. Live google status shows the store is not busy at all however 2 attempts to call both rang through long enough the call just ended.
Super slow service, it reminded me of the movie zootopia where the sloths were working. Just no one seemed to be in any hurry at all. However, the employees were friendly and they got our order accurate so I won't hold it against them too much.
So I normally avoid leaving negative reviews, especially with chain fast food restaurants because I know they're not meant to be a fine dining experience. But bruh this Wendy's is awful. They employees usually mess up something in my order but when I really have a hankering I'll go and order something with no modifications so it's mostly what I want. But today they really knocked out of the disappoint park. We went through the drive through and ordered a jalapeno popper salad combo and a summer strawberry salad combo. When we pulled to the window to pay, I was told they were out of the summer strawberry so I got a different kind of salad. No big deal. We were only handed two salads so we asked for our sides. The gentleman at the window handed us a paper bag without saying anything. We thought it was all sorted. When we got home, I realized the unsweetened tea I ordered was, in fact, super sweet. Plus, the paper bag with our "sides" in it actually contained an order of fries and a whole chicken sandwich. Some poor soul is probably missing their dinner tonight. The most laughable failure here is that when we finally decided to just eat what we were given, my partner had all the makings of a summer strawberry salad--just with jalapeno popper dressing. All in all, this experience sucked but I'm almost impressed with just how much it sucked. Shout out to this Wendy's for always keeping me on my toes!
