I go to this masjid regularly. The Ummah is very friendly. The Imam is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and discusses both relevant and current topics in his sermon. Humble and embracing but, gives it to you straight. I love this brother! The Khutbah is done in both Arabic and then English simultaneously (he goes back and forth between the two). There are Quran, Arabic and Hadith classes and Taleem for both children and adults (beginner to advanced) throughout the week usually after magrib. Arrive early on Jumah Friday (as you should) because it fills quickly. Please be respectful where you park because of the other businesses in the area. An Avondale Police officer is visibly close in the parking lot to ensure the safety of the Ummah. At the conclusion of the prayer on Jumah Friday, a family sponsors a box meal (for a $5 donation/each plate; proceeds go to the masjid) that is both tasty and Halal, so that you are still able to worship and not miss your lunch break meal. I've always felt welcome since day one. If you're having difficulty, the community is very supportive and knowledgeable. They do dawah and volunteer community improvement projects. There's usually someone there doing prayers throughout the day particularly fajr and magrib. InshaALLAH they will be breaking ground on a new Mosque within a year. I feel at home here!
