Agent redlined us. She seemed very excited early in the call when she only had my info. After asking where we were living now (ethnically diverse area), and for my boyfriend's name (obviously ethnically Hispanic - mine is obviously eastern European), her demeanor abruptly changed and she referred to my boyfriend (who is a recent college grad) as a "problem", and told us that our application would be denied despite my own income. She refused to provide a baseline acceptable income, and repeatedly said that my income/credit history/etc was insufficient without knowing it. She also insisted that only one person in the rental having a fulltime job would not be acceptable. Claimed that the landlord would be concerned about our rent being affordable when we currently pay $350 more than their asking price. She said there was serious concern about my being fired. When I asked if single renters were being shot down because they might be fired, she said no and that she was just "offering scenarios". She said that she would be willing to process our application, but that we were going to be shot down anyway, and that it would be different if I were not dating him. Apparently our situation would have been acceptable if we were family members/friends/etc. I informed her that I was no longer interested. Their website currently offers 4,000+ rentals. We were apparently unacceptable for all of them. She did not even attempt to showcase other properties where we might not be a "problem". --- The best part is that this is actually the second instance of this behavior with this agent, the first of which occurred earlier this year. Her name seemed familiar and I looked back at our email exchange. I asked if my pets would be accepted and if the apartment was still available. She took my details (same as above), then strung me along for 3 days before letting me know we were turned down by the landlord due to "lack of rental history", when I had a strong rental history from 2009 forward and had provided contacts for my landlords - that's 6+ years of solid references. When I questioned her about this reason for denying us, she said she'd keep us posted if the deal the landlord had fell through so we could get a chance to apply. So she never even presented our information to the landlord in an application? But we were turned down by the landlord for reasons I gave her over the phone (for the application which was never filled out)? Really? It seems like a lot of landlords this realtor represents have problems with us. I wonder why.

I Personally met Joy, Had Great Conversations with her; i was in one of her real estate classes in 2013-2014. she is so pleasent and always willing to help you!; personally i love her as a person. and now talk about bussiness, shes AMAZING! honestly she was so upfront and direct with everything she does theres no grey when speaking to her or her staff everything is very black and white. i myself AM LOOKING for a home however what im looking for is not on the market esp i want a foreclosure. but a condo is hard to find!

The Westcott team sold one of my properties recently. Working with Joy Riley was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to our next project together! I highly recommend hiring Joy! She is very experienced, knowledgeable, has her finger on the pulse of the real estate market, and is certain to get the best deal possible for her clients. She is also well connected in the investment community, and able to reach far and wide to generate interest, and to facilitate a connection mutually beneficial to both the buyer and the seller. 5-stars across the board!

If I could give this company zero stars, it would be one too many. I reported Ms. Riley to the DBR (the saga is too long to recount here but trust me, it was an amazing story) and at least got them to make her pay a fine. Every real estate professional I told about my story was hoping she'd lose her license because what she did to me wasn't out of the ordinary. Hopefully Citibank has ceased using this company to sell their REO properties.

My clients put an offer in on a foreclosure listed by Westcott Properties. Moving forward....working with Westcott was a breeze. They responded to my questions and concerns in a timely fashion...whether it was via phone or email. They (Jessica, Pat & Carol) were pleasant and very helpful right up until Closing Day!
