It is very sad when you call and leave message after message because you have not received a child support check in a month, not because your ex is not paying....nope, he is paying. I even seen his check stubs. But because his employer refuses to send the money in a timely manner. By law an employer only has three days after the payroll check is issued to send the payment to the state. I have been calling FOC and Lansing for 2 weeks with no response. Finally after leaving several messages for Kim, and her never calling me back. I finally called today and demanded to actually speak to someone. When Kim finally got on the phone I told her of the situation and her response was "I will send a letter" I told her that I had left messages, and her response to that was "Well if it was after Wed, I have not even listened to any VM since then, cause I was in court." It is pretty said when both parties the payer and the payee are doing exactly what they should, and the FOC is the ones dragging their feet. If the FOC is so busy that they can not even check their VM on daily basis, then maybe the FOC should do some hiring. But of course my hands are tied and my ex's employer can just sit on the money, but it is ok cause the FOC is going to send a letter.
