Very relaxing, no power boats allowed, very clear water with 15' to 20' visibility, if you are a Diver a great place to dive.  Wide variety of fish, sunfish, bass, pike and very small transparent jellyfish at 25' depth...

Great place to take the family to enjoy the outdoors. Decent fishing and fun place to swim. Awesome fireworks show every 4th of July.

Note: Downgraded my review. In the last 4 months, the weeds have gotten out of control. 
Very difficult to fish as you get hung up almost every cast. Definitely a major issue for fishing and also for swimming. The Water Department needs to fix this ASAP. Also, they have stopped the discounted yearly pass for Somervell County residents. 

If you live in Somervell county and you've never been to Wheeler Branch, you're missing out.  Clear, clean water, restroom facilities, picnic tables, a pavilion, and fishing. No motors make for peaceful lounging, swimming, pick-nicking, canoeing, and paddle surfing, and you can also scuba dive.

Water is clean and clear. Picnic and swimming areas, clean restrooms, and outdoor showers.  A great place to go kayaking with the family because no motor boats are allowed.  Plenty of fish to be caught.  :) Definitely will keep coming back.
