Our Humble Beginnings
“A Repeat Performance” … that’s what we say when people ask us, “How long have you had the Whistle Stop?” Since 1995 I have had a true romance with this place, ultimately purchasing it not once, but twice! The second time was with my husband Patrick. Together we created Whistle Stop Grill & Bar as you know it today.
Originally owned by Jane & Henry Fox, “The Frostee Harbor” was a drive-in ice cream stand with a limited menu of burgers, fries & other goodies. It was a steadfast Safety Harbor Landmark for over 30 years. Through the years, so many folks have come to us to reminisce and share their lively anecdotes of coming here for ice cream & fun. We’ve come a long way!
Our Real Good Food menu has evolved and embraces the Local-Slow Food movement. We buy local whenever possible and always use the freshest & best ingredients available to us. We are proud to host amazing musicians from near & far. Because of them, we’re known as “The Cool” live music venue. And we now serve more than beer and wine! Our latest renovation includes a Full Service Bar, and you can now enjoy Al Fresco Dining any day of the year, in any weather, thanks to our outdoor heaters and roll down enclosures.
