stars! A great privately owned museum with great "tour guides" who will answer pretty much any question you have. Loads of artifacts and a few displays that will entice any Civil War buff. There is also a few war era winter huts outside. Admission is $4. Also a very good place to do research I hear.

The privately owned museum was filled with incredible artifacts, and while we where there, a man donated to the museum a Civil War era belt buckle he had found on his property. The owners know so much, and were kind enough to give us a detailed tour of the museum.

This is one of the finest collections of Civil War artifacts I have ever seen. Also, the owner took a great deal of time to show me around, as well as discuss the enormous amount of research he has done over the years to save camp locations from being swallowed up by new housing developments. He has been called upon in the past to assist archeologists when new locations are found. He's quite impressive. It may not look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled. If you have any interest in the Civil War, you must stop in! Amazing!

STUNNING!!!! There is no other museum in VA that could hold a candle to White Oak.  Go visit the battlefields, go read the markers, go buy a coffee mug and when you get tired of looking at reproduction artifacts and you want to really discuss the real facts and actual history oh and you want to see real and unbelievably rare artifacts.....WHITE OAK CIVIL WAR MUSEUM IS THE ONLY STOP YOU NEED TO MAKE!!!  Staffed by true historians both in knowledge and unbiased.  I can't begin to find the words to describe the artifacts it's absolutely the most amazing collection of Civil War relics housed in 1 location in the country.  Run, don't walk to the museum
