Although I love their selection of gluten-free foods and pantry items, I'm always disappointed at their high-priced, poor-quality produce. I understand paying more for organic, but when the food is already rotting or super ripe when I buy it, I expect to not pay top dollar. Last year, I bought mushy persimmons at $2 each because I couldn't find them anywhere else. The bag of lemons I recently bought is already going moldy less than a week later, which doesn't surprise me as I had a hard time finding a bag that didn't contain mushy, brown lemons to begin with. The organic celery and parsley I bought for Thanksgiving wilted within 24 hours of purchase. I'm definitely willing to pay a little bit more to avoid shopping at 5 different places due to our family's dietary restrictions, but I wish that their fresh produce selection matched price for quality. I also realize in Idaho fresh isn't always possible. But in that case they shouldn't be selling food that is going bad. I'd rather have less of a selection than a poor quality one. Aside from that their meat counter personnel are always very helpful and patient with me, and I can usually find everything else on my list.

The Whole Foods in Boise has everything you would expect from a Whole Foods Market. Great place to go for hot food and for their beer and wine selection! They also have a bar here that is pretty popular.

The most civilized place to shop in all of Boise. Willing to pay higher prices to shop along side people who don't mow you down with carts and have some level of couth.

Whole Foods has a great selection of natural products, organic products, and a wide variety of local products unique to each store that showcases the best there is in that area. Make sure to hit up the salad bar that features hot and cold dishes (including soups) with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Large bakery and deli assortment of foods available. Great pizza and coffee bar! Bar upstairs serves local beers and spirits with a great view of Boise. Huge variety of vegan and vegetarian food. Good bulk foods section. Special note: the mothers room here is THE BEST I’ve found in Boise! Big comfy chair, room for a double stroller inside, nice changing area, small kids toys and books and chair for them to sit. Large private area located within the women’s restroom upstairs. All in all, Whole Foods is a great stop anytime for almost any purpose!

Most foods here are pricey so spend a little time shopping for the deals. An easy way is signing up for email newsletters that let you know about upcoming sales. Great healthy choices abound. And friendly helpful employees are reasons to like shopping here too. And bring your dog. Outdoor rest area for Fido including turf, water bowl and leash attachment if you want to eat a meal or snack from their amazing salad bar by the pound.
