I have mixed feelings about Dr. Wu. I was referred to her by a friend who was cured of a very serious disease. I had my first appointment with her at 1pm. I left work early and planned to return after the appointment (that was supposed to be 1 hour). For starters, Dr. Wu was over an hour late for my appointment. The receptionist informed me that Dr. Wu takes a lot of time with each patient so she often runs late. This is very useful information and I wish I knew that beforehand. I'm a fairly healthy person and I came for acupuncture. Dr. Wu asked me a LOT of questions--kinda all over the place. Next she gave me the acupuncture treatment and told me to relax and go to sleep. 45 minutes goes by, and it's now 5pm. I can not go back to work at this time. Take make matters worse, the office manager charged me for a 2-hour visit which is $400--the difference between a one-hour visit and a 2-hour visit is $100! There were no clocks in the room and I had no idea what was happening. Because Dr. Wu does not accept insurance customers are paying these extreme rates out of pocket. I am very uneasy about this experience. It left a very sour taste in my mouth. If I were to make a recommendation, I would encourage them to provide more transparency. If I knew in advance that Dr. Wu often runs late I would have planned accordingly. Further, if I knew that the cost difference between a 1-hour and a 2-hour appointment I would have better managed the time. She may be a excellent doctor. Unfortunately, I won't find out because I will NEVER go back to her.
