We received a Notice from Wichita Animal Control Department stating we were being put "on notice" for failure to provide shelter, water, and food. Each of these very serious allegations are false. See the attached photo of our kennel with insulated dog house. On the date we received the notice it was 56 degrees outside, and the dog had water and food. I doubt Officer Baker even looked in our backyard to investigate. I'm sure an ignorant neighbor called to complain about a dog being "trapped" in a kennel, and rather than do his/her job, Officer Baker just checked some boxes and slipped the Notice in our door. I left a message for Animal Control asking Officer Baker return my phone call. Five days later I still had not received a return call so I called again. I waited on hold for 75 minutes before I had to hang up.

My issue was by no means an emergency, and it's a good think it wasn't. We are new to Wichita, moved here four months ago from Overland Park, KS. I have never in my life experienced such terrible public service. This speaks volumes about the state of Wichita's local government, tax base, and funding allocation. I hope we never have a true animal emergency.

That system is the worst . I have a pit running around my  neighbor hood tearing up my yard. And there’s no one there to talk to. Do we just need to take these kinds of things in our own hands ?

Useless organization.  They dont answer the phone and they dont come out.  What the hell are our taxes paying for?  They actually get paid to suck?  Really?  Yall need new management.

Very poor experience. Not very helpful. Will listen to you but never comes out. Does nothing about the situation. Wouldn’t even give it a star.
