Over the years, I've come to rely on the guys working behind the counter in the firearms department. They've never steered me wrong. I've purchased rifles, scopes, climbing stands, and more. I'd probably shop there even more if it were closer to my home. Later this summer, I plan to add to the arsenal and pick up a 7mm 08 for my youngest. I was seriously considering a .243 until WF&G gun pros suggested that I consider this caliber for its versatility. Keep up the good work and I'll pay a fair price for expert gun smith's and men that know their firearms

I brought gunsmith Gary a brand new set of Perazzi barrels to have fitted to an action. Turns out he had no clue whatsoever about the proper process to fit barrels and (thankfully) did no work at all on the barrel bloc. Instead, while messing around with this set of custom order $4000 barrels he put an obvious scratch across the top of the rib. He assembled the gun, shot one shell through each barrel and although the primer strikes were well off center, he pronounced it fit to shoot anyway - which is asinine - it either fits and works as intended or it doesn't. For the privilege of displaying his incompetence in full bloom, he charged me about $80, which almost would have been worth the comedy had he not damaged my barrels. What put me over the edge is I saw the scratch as soon as he brought the gun to the counter but when I confronted him about it he acted as though he had not noticed it - like a guilty child. The barrels were dead mint when I brought them in. Avoid this place like the plague.

Cabela's....who? This place has everything a person needs for hunting, fishing, or firearm repair. And the prices are a lot lower than anywhere else in WI.
