William Garrity DO/MD

As an osteopathic physician myself, if you have musculoskeletal (especially neck and back pain), I can tell you that Dr. Garrity is one of the BEST osteopathic physicians in New England.  At times, when I lived in Syracuse, I even made the 4 hour trip to see him because I could find no osteopathic providers (at his level) in central NY. If he is running behind in his office, it is because he takes great care to treat people with his hands and avoids prescribing unnecessary medications. Actually fixing the problem takes time. That's what osteopathic medicine is all about. I have avoided surgery for 19 years by seeing DOs (like Dr. Garrity) once in a while to address new or worsening symptoms. While I was training at Yale (far from Suffield), he even saw me in his office at 9 pm one night, after I got out of work. If you have neck pain or back pain with symptoms radiating down your arm or leg, you know how important it is to be able to get in to see someone who can really relieve your pain! His extended hours have been a true gift for someone with my schedule! I recommend him to friends and co-workers all the time because I know, first-hand, what a difference it can make!

I have seen Dr. Garrity twice. Never again. Each visit I waited 45 minutes to only be seen for 5 minutes. Each time felt rushed, he spoke very quickly and always left feeling as if I wasted my time. Fast forward a year later from my last visit, I am still dealing with billing issues from his office. His staff seems to be a revolving door. Over the last year I have probably made over 50 calls to his office and each time I call they take a message and I never receive a return phone call. I found out they actually have no one in their billing department.  It is ironic that I am having billing issues with his office and when you google his name you see that a few years back he settle a billing lawsuit. Makes you think how many others may not even know what they are being billed for....

I absolutely love this doctor. I drive an hour past many others to see him.  You will wait, that is true, however his holistic aapproach has helped solve many issues that stumped my PC and OBGYN.  I would rather wait for a doctor who is knolegable that keep wasting my  time with other practices that can't solve the issues anyway.  I feel better than I have in years and feel like he addressed the cause not just the symptoms.   I brought him the same complaints I took to other medical professionals that could not offer any solutions except prescription that would help me cope with issues. Dr Garritey solved many issues for me that don't  require  long term medication to sustain. 

In my opinion he is worth the wait.

Dr. Garrity takes a great analytical approach to understanding what is wrong and makes great recommendations.  In particular,  I appreciate the DO approach of working with the body to allow it to heal rather than prescribing meds right away as other so called doctors do.

Great Doctor....I find him very caring,
he is understanding and listens to me.
I am glad I go to see him for my back 
and wrist problems.
