ATTENTION STUDENTS AND TRAVELERS:  My daughter (student at BHSU) needed a new alternator on her Toyota RAV4. Another local shop quoted $657. We weren’t even sure if that included tax. They claimed that since the vehicle came from a US factory, it required a more expensive alternator. My hometown mechanic scoffed at that explanation and said that when he needed a repair in Spearfish, Williams Standard (recommended by local NAPA Auto Parts) treated him fairly. A friend in Spearfish also recommended Williams Standard without hesitation. The final charge from WS was $440, after tax.

If you are a local trying to find great service, or a college student trying to find a shop for assistance this is a great place for both!  They are just a simple down-to-earth shop.  They fit you in as soon as possible and give you the best deal possible.  My dad is a mechanic 6hrs away and the guys here treated me and took care of the car as if it was for their own family.  They do what is in their best interest and not just to get the $$.  Definitely my #1 choice for vehicle service and repairs!

My wife and I got a flat tire on our vacation. They were able to get us in right away. Very friendly staff, great price, and a full service gas station/shop. Highly recommended. You can't find small-town service like this anywhere else.

John opened up his shop Christmas day so I can make it home from out of state. honest, & a straight shooter. Won't give you something you don't need. I wish I had a mechanic like this in my town.
