Went for dinner at this lovely pub, it has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered starters, main and dessert. The biggest portion by a bit was the fish and chips, the chicken burger and squid starter was also tasty. The sea bass was not to my taste, it was served with runny egg which I don’t think worked at all. Not much on the plate for that one so I’ll avoid it and get the fish and chips. Overall a lovely night and the Cheescake desert was yummy!
I found a lovely gastro pub on the river side. I went there and took a Sunday roast. I believe they have a good chef in their kitchen. The fried squid is nice. The Focaccia is better any other an Italian restaurant. Of course, the roasted aged beef is awesome!! The staff is very kind and friendly. I will definitely back again soon.
My friend and I had a pleasant lunch here on Sunday. Good venue with a nice view. It was very busy so I would recommend booking. We had the beef & pork roasts see photos. I enjoyed the beef. My friend found the pork chewy and the crackling wasn't crispy so she will choose something else next time. Overall we had an enjoyable afternoon.
Local pub. Good decorations. Friendly staff, not all of them though. Second floor is always closed unless first is full big minus. In general food is nice and good choice of drinks. Wish the prices were a bit more generous. It’s understandable that it’s only place to drink in area but for sure it will attract more people if you want to invite friends to this detached area if it was a bit less pricey. Also I would highly recommend managers to talk to bartenders about not using drinks that was not sold to someone for newly arrived customers.
This is a really lovely spot right there in Pontoon Dock. This spot gives you an electric ambience that you could easily mistake for home. They have a nice beer selection but they could be much better. The waitstaff might not be the best as they seemingly look disinterested in being at the job most times. Parking is a bit of a bother so you might have to park some ways and walk to the restaurant. Well who says walking isnt good . The prices is my biggest concern. Why do they think they have to be that expensive? They could do with better price planning.
Food was delicious. Classic pub fare with really delicious and exciting specials. Drink selection is strong, staff are friendly and accommodating. Great for large groups but definitely book!
It’s a decent neighborhood pub with a brunch menu filled with all the classics, so we had the full english breakfast, croque monseur, and a flat white to drink. Don’t come here for the coffee, but the breakfast was fairly decent and it’s a nice place to hang out to meet people for food or drinks if you live around the area.
We feel a bit let down with The Windjammer. We have been here a few times now and each time has been different. Today's experience was diabolical though which means it's likely we won't return. Firstly, the good. This is a nice spacious restaurant with an excellent location overlooking the Thames Barrier. You can sit inside or outside depending on the weather. The food is fairly tasty, but some of it a little overpriced for what is offered. They do have a reasonable selection of drinks though. Now the bad, the service previously has been either too on-point, or today non-existent. Upon entering no one asked us to be seated as we stood by the entrance waiting to be served. We grabbed our own table anyway it wasn't that busy. Service was lacking as we had to go to the bar to order drinks and starters, rather than be served at the table. The Windjammer allows for dogs inside and out, which owners often allow to sit on the seats where people sit and eat. Even eating food off the table. This is great for dog lovers, but totally barbaric for anyone else. They should really bar dogs from inside the restaurant. I have just read a similar complaint from another review from about a year ago. The owner has responded saying it's a dog friendly pub and you can ask to sit upstairs away from the dogs if it's a concern. If this is the case, then upon entering staff should perhaps mention this to customers and offer them the choice. After our main meal, they received a delivery of new barrels the noise and banging against the wall was off-putting to say the least. We promptly left without having desert.
This is a very modern pub with nice and relaxed ambiance. The service was very quick and polite. The food arrived quickly and ticked all the boxes, however, for me, it was rather heavy, even for fish and chips.
Sunday Roast here can be hit and miss sometimes. Always a good portion size and variety of sides. Nice pub, good location and nice beers.
