Small, established fair selection, always helpful. Not the cheapest but a great range of options

The best wine shop in the Capital Region. I've yet to find a more knowledgeable staff anywhere else and their selection offers great variety at all different price points. I love their handwritten descriptions of the wines they have available - as they're incredibly helpful when the staff is tied up with other customers. My go to place for finding new wines or when shopping for a gift - just beware, it's a small independent wine shop, don't expect a wine warehouse experience.

Not from Albany, but when visiting relatives there, the Wine Shop is a must stop destination for us. Great selection of wines - lots of countries and varieties, lots of price ranges.  But rarely one that doesn't satisfy. And very helpful people running it - ask and they find.  

Really wish they were nearby - but then I'd be broke or an alcoholic probably. But, if you have a chance, please stop.
