Winnebago County Health Department Facebook Comment Policy

We welcome you and your comments to the Winnebago County Health Department’s (WCHD) Facebook Pages.

WCHD participates in Facebook in order to inform and engage individuals and organizations in leading healthier lives.
WCHD provides content on Facebook to encourage participation with our public on health messages and discussion of health information.
You are encouraged to submit comments, questions and concerns but please note this is a moderated online discussion and not a public forum.
While we encourage fans to share thoughts and opinions on the WCHD Facebook page, we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner.
WCHD does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share health information with as many individuals as possible.
Therefore, a comment will be deleted if it contains:
• Vulgar language,
• Profanity, obscenity or nudity in profile pictures,
• Defamation to a person or people,
• Offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial or religious group,
• Name calling and/or personal attacks,
• Are clearly off topic, and/or disruptive,
• Advocate illegal activity,
• Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product,
• Infringe copyrights or trademarks,
• Spam or include links to other sites,
• Other comments that the WCHD administration deems inappropriate.

Repeated violations of the WCHD comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from the WCHD Facebook page.
We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and we are trusting in the maturity of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.
