Story

The Winooski Valley Park District’s mission is to plan, acquire, and manage lands and waters within the boundaries of its member municipalities in the Winooski River Valley for purposes of conservation, preservation of natural areas, establishment of parks, and resource-based education and recreation.

WVPD's member towns are Burlington, Colchester, Essex, Jericho, South Burlington, Williston, and Winooski.

The WVPD owns and manages 18 parks, over 1,700 acres of natural areas, 22 miles of trails, and over 12 miles of shoreline on lakes and rivers.

WVPD parks are open year round, each day from dawn until dusk. The WVPD office located at the Ethan Allen Homestead in Burlington is open weekdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm, except for major Holidays.

This a great place to get away while still being close to so much. Nice easy walking path without much in the way of hills and lovely views of the river and wildlife.
