The food is consistently good. That's why I keep coming back. The service is bad. Bus boys and waitress don't know the basics of table service. For example, when serving an entree and each person has had an app, clear the dirty dishes before putting the new dishes down. You DO NOT put the new dishes ON TOP of the used ones. Or, when serving coffee, offer sugar. Don't assume the customer will go to the bar to ask for some because you have never come back. Service reflects very poorly on management and ownership's ability to train and monitor their staff.

Great chowder and probably the best oysters I have had in my life. I think they were pulled out of the water that day. For my entree I had the scallops and risotto which were awesome too. I remember our server being very friendly and informative about the menu. Great place!

We've loved the Winsor House since moving to the area a few years ago. The food was so creative, tasty, and the waitstaff very professional. We heard that there had been some changes recently, but decided to go back for a birthday celebration in spite of some bad reviews. Unfortunately, we were really, really disappointed. While not expecting French Laundry, we had high hopes given past experiences that had pleased us and guests from around the world with discriminating palates. All the things we had valued about Winsor House: the creative dishes, great food, professional waitstaff, were gone. Replaced by mediocre food, waitstaff that served wine at the end of the meal instead of as requested with the meal, forgot other components, etc. There were very limited choices for those that are allergic to seafood, and those choices were bland and unappetizing. One in our party felt ill after eating the fish and chips. Unfortunately, we can no longer justify spending money for a meal there, we will go elsewhere. The bar is still lovely for a drink, and I hope to someday come back for the food.
