An historic local diner that could definitely use a good cleaning. The folks were pleasant enough though the service was very slow. The food was ok, not amazing, smaller portions and nothing too special in taste or quality. If I bought it from a gas station, this is about what I'd expect. If it were cleaner I'd be more forgiving, even the reasonable pricing can't overcome grimy floors and sticky booths/tables.
Had the bacon double with onion rings and an awesome strawberry milkshake. Food was really good and cooked fresh. Service was also friendly and accommodating. A fresh coat of paint and some landscaping would make this place not feel run down.Food: 5/5
I go to a lot of burger places and this is still my favorite! I go here as often as I canI don't live very close. I do the triple with everything on it and add mayo, lettuce, and tomato. This is a burger that is all about the toppings. They have great ingredients and texture. The onions are always fresh and the onion and lettuce have an amazing crunch to the burger. The buns are always soft and fresh. They also have fantastic ketchup. Don't forget one of their cherry limeades. They are amazing.
Main item is a burger, single, double or triple. Everything is Ala cart, if you want fries they are extra or onion rings. The price is very good 2 of us ate for $15. The burgers tasted good, and service was good. We missed breakfast, stops at 10:30. The breakfast menu is simple but every thing is responsible price. They also have icecream and shakes available. It's like stepping into the past. We will return again nice break from fast food places.
We had the best Service and Food today. We almost left they looked so busy sure glad we didn't. We were seated no problem best Waitress and gentleman who was helping her was fantastic as well. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Dinged the atmosphere only because it needs tlc. Our server was AWESOME. The only other burger I've EVER had that was better was from Bionic burgers in Wichita. Great onion rings, unique limeade, they put lime sherbert in them. Sounds weird but it's awesome. The prices were great as well.Food: 5/5
Great old Kansas City diner. The double steakburger with grilled onions was very good. We had onion rings and tater tots so we could do each. Wifey had a chocolate frosty which was chocolate soft serve in a glass. 12 oz was enough to share. Not being fans of shakes, didn't try that. Great spot for a lunch. All orders seem to be ala cart, so you can mix your choices as you like without getting any dupes.
Used to be my favorite steakburger. Hands down. Now sadly, it's only vaguely anything like it used to be. Ordered my food, trusted them to do it right, they didn't. It wasn't made any of the toppings i requested. The extra ketchup i asked for wasn't included. The cherry limeade tasted similar to dirty dishwater with a drop of cherry juice for good measure. Made me regret adding a tip about the same as burger and fries cost. my Writing this makes me sad. I might have given them 1 star but I've had so many great burgers with my kids at this location over the years i couldn't do it.
This was the perfect "diner" food. My husband got a double cheeseburger and I got a single burger. We got the kids chicken strips and fries. All of the food was absolutely delicious. It arrived quickly. My cherry limeade was the best I have ever had. After we ate our food we ordered milkshakes. Those were much more disappointing and not typical diner fare. It looked like they started with a vanilla ice cream base and just added shots of flavoring. My husband and I both ordered banana shakes and there was no real banana to be found. They were just okay. Our waitress was nice, but never refilled our waters. Parking: There was plenty of parking when we went, but navigating it was not easy for some drivers.
Make sure to ask for extra crispy fries and get a coke float! Love the steak burgers and chicken salad! Onion rings are always on point and delicious! Our favorite place to go for shakes and you must get the skyscraper!Recommended dishesFifty-Fifty, Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion Rings, Double Cheeseburger Fries and Onion Rings, Strawberry Limeade, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Sky Scraper Chocolate Milkshake Unbelievable
