It seems like they are new owners. It looks like they are using old dinnerware. The spout of the tea kettle was chipped. Food was average and nothing spectacular. Price was reasonable and I guess it is what you get for the low cost. Wonde Harbor Dim Sum would be a good place to take the whole family or large parties to keep the cost down. Unfortunately, I will not return to this restaurant in the future. Please try this restaurant and maybe it will fit your budget and needs. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian dishes Parking: Tons of parking
Dim sum spot where you order ahead via paper menu. Came here on a Sunday around 11am and waited approximately 25 minutes for a table of 3. You’re given a piece of paper with your number on it and then you give it to the hostess once it’s called. After you’re seated, you can select the tea you’d like they had chrysanthemum which was nice given that I usually only see jasmine and then you fill out the menu with however many items you’d like to order. 12 dishes is what we usually get for 3 people and we usually end up with some leftovers. The portions of the dough for the buns and minced pork puff pastry were large, but could have used more filling. The lotus wrapped sticky rice came in two pieces and that was also quite filling. I would recommend the siu mai and the baked pork buns. Credit cards accepted. Free parking available in the lot. Restrooms available in the back. Indoor dining only. There’s a waiting area outside with plenty of benches. Good for big groups.
I’ve been here multiple times and every time it was amazing. It seems that during lunch hour most people get dim sum but I just gotta say the entrees are also really good - the lobster e-mein and bbq dishes are my favorite.
New owners. Used to be Pleasure Ocean. We went around 2pm. Dim sum was of similar quality except for the chicken feet which came out looking drier and smaller. The menu is different of course and is now missing pictures which I used to rely upon to order. Be careful when ordering live seafood. The menu doesn't mention the price. We ordered whole steamed fish how much could it be right? Turned out when the bill came, the fish cost $220 at $80 per pound. A lesson learned. I'll be sure to ask next time.
Okay dim sum if you don’t want to wait. Went on Sunday around 11am and got a seat right away for a table of 6. We had to wait over 30min to get our credit card back cause they forgot about us. Would have given 3 stars if not for that. Food quality is middle of the road. I think their pastry dishes are probably the best so treat yourself to a nice dessert. Dishes to avoid: -XLB pork soup dumplings are no bueno. Comes in a mini egg tart tin, but has barely any soup and no flavour -Rice roll Chinese donut hard dry donut, really sad to look at
First time I came from Florida to California to have fabulous dim sum lunch at this fine Chinese restaurant. To my surprise it felt like home when I first entered the restaurant. The ambiance and the environment felt like Hong Kong. We ordered many tasty dishes: Fried Turnip Cake, Phoenix Claw, Steamed BBQ Roast Pork Bun, Steamed Egg Custard Bun, Shark Fin Dumpling, Egg Custard Tart and Mango Sago Pudding. I highly recommend all the locals and fellow Yelpersto come and visit to have a wonderful Chinese Dim Lunch!
I came on Lunar New Year’s Eve, my family had reservations. The first few dishes came out FAST, but towards the last dishes, it came out with intervals of 15-30 minutes. The dessert was meant to be hot, but came out COLD. Service was really bad. Staff were hard to reach and not responsive. The overall atmosphere was dirty. The restroom was not very accessible and dirty. The stall locks were very old. The restroom was dim, and I got locked in a stall and had to climb out. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was a horrible experience. On top of that, plates and bowls were dirty. The total cost for 10 people was $792.00 including tip and tax. Very unreasonable. Overall: 2/5 Food: 3/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Cost: 1/5 Service: 2/5 Restroom: 0/5 Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Very not kidfriendly. Would not recommend for 0-14 yr olds Parking: A lot of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Not that accessible for wheelchair or crutches, would not recommend for seniors.
Unlike many of the dim sum restaurants I'm accustomed to, this one doesn't have the carts going around. The menu has everything you want to eat and it comes with description & pictures for everything. So, like many of my lunches with my boyfriend's family, his Mom always puts us in good hands by ordering nearly one of everything. The only items I was really looking forward to eat were the steamed shrimp in rice rolls, chicken feet and Chinese broccoli. Those are typically my staples every time I eat dim sum. You just gotta have them! On the table: 2 orders of steamed shrimp in rice rolls, chicken feet, Peking duck, duck lettuce wraps, braised spare ribs, 2 orders of shumai, crispy taro dumpling, Chinese broccoli, 2 orders of hargow and 3 orders of mango pudding. I was pleasantly surprised by how the duck was prepared. They presented all the crackling skin to be wrapped in a bao with scallions and hoisin sauce, and then the rest of the meat was made into a stir fry for lettuce wraps. A new experience for me and it was really good. The only downfall of this restaurant was lack of service. We asked for water three times and tea wasn't promptly refilled either. It was really hard to flag someone down to so his mom basically yelled at them to get their attention. Food overall was average and nothing spectacular stood out besides the duck. If I had my choice, I'd rather go to Seafood Village for dim sum. At least the wait is worth it!
Out of other dim sum places I have tried in Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, Monterey Parks, Hollywood and Gardena, this place is so far my most favorite. Less waiting time, attentive servers who speak fluent English, food comes out fast and just in good quality. Though a little pricy, their menu has more interesting items than other restaurants.
Service was kinda there? Food was kinda inconsistent between "ok why am I paying this much for this" and "this is alright". Maybe I came at a bad time, but 1230 should still be a prime lunch time.
