It’s a good Indian restaurant in the vicinity the south Indian recipes on the menu. Awesome. The Dosas were very good. The coffee was very good. This place serves the South Indian filter coffee, which is excellent. If you have a craving for a good dosa then this is the perfect place, the location of the restaurant is decent the plenty of parking on site
Woodlands is a pretty mediocre Indian restaurant in Orlando. It almost feels as if it was one of the original spots for Indian food here, and unfortunately, as more Indian restaurants have moved to the OBT area, it’s quite a bit outdated compared to others. We have been to a majority of Indian restaurants in Orlando, and pretty much all of the ones right nearby Woodlands, and I can’t see a scenario where I would recommend this restaurant over others like Gully, Bombay and Khasiyat, unless those places are closed. There wasn’t anything inherently wrong with this place, and a few things we ordered were quite good, but we weren’t “amazed” by anything. The malai kofta was our favorite dish we ordered, the gobi manchurian with gravy is something you should pass on, and the mixed appetizer platter was pretty good, but some things on the platter weren’t our favorite. The batura bread was quite good, so I can assume other breads like naan would be good here as well. The service was kind of weird here - you have to waive down waiters and waitresses to get them to come to your table for bill, but at the same time they’re just staring at you from across the restaurant and it’s sorta awkward. Also, the exterior of the building is quite dilapidated, and it doesn’t have an inviting atmosphere. They should definitely do some updating to make it more appealing. Overall, we would probably try this place again, but only if we were in the area, and places like Gully, Bombay, and Khasiyat weren’t open.
The food was nice and crunchy but I felt like the food was lacking more flavor and seasoning. The Manchurian was good but I got a couple of them which were not cook well from the center. And the noodle was very mid I had a lot of indo Chinese but this was bad. But the service and everything was great.Food: 3/5
Their food never disappoints! Authentic south indian food! We always make sure to stop by Woodlands every time we are in Orlando. Rose falooda and Gobi Manchurian is amazing!! Dosas and Idly as usual very very good.. Service is also very quick even when its crowded! Highly recommend for south Indian food!! Please open in Tampa as well.
If you want to experience authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine this is the place. The restaurant is obviously an old fast food place but they have recently updated the interior so it is nice inside. The staff are a bit cold hence my rating. Last visit I had Rasam a hot sour soup and a Masala Dosai a thin crepe with potato and onion filling with coconut chutney and a samba. All the food was hot and delicious. Vegetarian options: The complete menu is vegetarian. Huge selection.
The most authentic vegetarian indian foodsouth indian in orlando. Travelled 15KM and not disappointed. Freshly cooked food with awesome taste, bring your pallets back to india. Reasonable price and ample parking. Will visit again. Vegetarian options: Lots of Pakora options as appetizers
Absolutely love the incredible Chola Bhatora here! This was my third visit, and their Bhatora is unbeatable. However, the long wait of 3 hours on a crowded weekend was quite challenging. I'd highly recommend avoiding weekends for a more enjoyable experience. The food's worth it, just plan your visit wisely!Food: 5/5
We had been here 5 yrs back and we still remember the food..the space and interiors were all upgraded. The vada was super hard ...it was not fresh.. when we told them abouut it their response was"you have eaten it .. " learn to trust your customers.. We ordered chola puri, vada, Gobi Manchurian , poori sagg ,Naan and kadai paneer , ghee dosa and podi dosa ... We liked the Gobi chola poori and kadai paneer . They were delicious however their sambar is watery and needs some standard. Chutney was super cold and did not taste great. Plates were congested and they did not attend to us well even though we were the only family in the place.. Since it was closing , they had turned off the lights in wash rooms and waiting to shut the lights as we exited. Please have some courtesy and kindness when you respond to your customers... it makes a difference in their dining experience
Just a cheap quality-wise, not price-wise, shoddy business serving out mediocre food in a bad atmosphere. We ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa, and the potato filling was spoilt. A few other things we ordered came out at random order - entrée before appetizer, drinks after entrée - something that seems rather common among many Indian eateries in Orlando area. Falooda was too watery and bland. The owner or the manager person stood around disinterestingly watching over what seemed like utter chaos. IMO, fish markets have better atmosphere. Avoid if you can! Don't believe the 5 star reviews you see here.
Ordered paper dosa and rawa dosa. There was a long wait, place was very busy which partly set us up with high expectations and hope for some really good food. But the dosas were way too oily, and came with only one chutney. Again limited Sambhar with extra charges for refills. This appears to be the norm in Orlando, however there are so many better dosa places throughout USA, where food is delicious and authentic. Orlando was a big letdown in comparison.
